I miss the Gertie in Williamsburg, but was excited to reconnect with the food and staff at the new Gertie in Prospect Park. The familiar colorful mural, with some bright new touches, greeted me, as did the staff, handing out little goodies to eat while waiting on line. I ordered my old favorite, the Egg and Cheese which was delicious, as always. As I was part of group, we also shared the babka and corn muffins, which were a treat. Despite the slightly cold weather, we ate outside in the back, which is a very pretty space that will likely fill up quickly when the weather warms a bit. And as a present to myself, I took home a chicken schnitzel sandwich on challah toast, which I devoured later in the day. I planned to eat only half, but as it was so good, I couldn't resist finishing it! I highly recommend the new Gertie.

Gertie’s was a good experience. The staff were friendly and the vibes were good, however the bagels have room for improvement: they were covered with flour all over the bottom, and the prices are steep.

Waited 30+ min for a $22 pastrami sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, the sandwich was good, but not worth any sort of wait

Excited to try out Gertie's today and finally get my latkes fix! The latkes were really tasty and fried little pucks of perfection with apple sauce and sour cream(which could've been creamier). Sadly, similar to previous reviews they still have some work to do with their matzah balls. My $10 pint had 1 medium sized dense Matzah ball, with a cornmealy taste and salty broth. Not like my grandma's fluffy airy ones. The pastrami turkey club was delicious on thick rye bread. No line on a Friday afternoon, quick, friendly service.

$21 for egg, cheese, unflavored pickled peppers, and oversalted pastrami. And reusing R&D's menu. I get foodie culture but this is ridiculous. Waiting in line for the next big hot spot. I'll go down the street and get me banger bagels from a real small local business.
Staff is amazing. The food and the vibe not so much.

For a small place in Brooklyn, this restaurant can feed an Army. The food and drinks were delicious and the portions were precise.

Such a great edition to the neighborhood!
Literally the best Turkey Club sandwich and matzo ball soup I’ve ever eaten. Heard the bagels were amazing - looking forward to making this part of my regular rotation. Welcome to the ‘hood!
