let me say that Hamiltons has the BEST potato wedges.... I had a hamburger that I rarely have because of my gluten issue..I asked how the GF rolls were and the waitress said she prefers them to their regular rolls because the reg rolls have seeds?... anyway, the GF roll crumbled on my first bite... it was inedible.....the other thing is all their cocktails are made with Soju....so NO real liquor in the joint,

Service was great and fast! We watched the eclipse here while sipping on spritzers and we had the best time! Will definitely be back.

*sigh* I WANT to like Hamilton's so so badly, if for no other reason that it's the closest cozy bar & eatery to my apartment. Their sister restaurant, Hilltop Tavern, is absolutely lovely - great food, great service. Hamilton's, on the other hand, is consistently hit or miss. The food is frequently lacking salt, the salads soggy, hamburger buns crumble in your hands. Service is confusing, the staff seems untrained (food runner served a hot plate directly into my hands & had to be reminded to bring silverware) and irritated by the presence of customers. I guess they stay in business by the rush of wine moms at after-school pickup... or the lack of competition in the neighborhood. (hint hint to any aspiring area restauranteurs) I'm sure I'll be back but maybe just for a drink at the bar... not sure how the kitchen forgot to salt the potatoes but they did. It was sad.

Hamilton's reached out and apologized for our experience, and I really appreciate that. I was more upset about how rude the waitress was, than the mistake that was made. And they apologized for that. Food was good, I enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich and my youngest enjoyed the Cobb. Our waitress was rude. When my daughter ordered her drink the same as mine after my drink was served, she said "I wish I knew that." Then she put in for the reg French toast instead of the children's one I ordered for my child. The regular one had nuts. The children's one did not list nuts. They had the nerve to argue with me. They later apologized since I was correct. Then they told me I couldn't have the kids French toast cause brunch was over! Then they said the chef would do it, like they were doing me the favor. Ummmm we ordered before brunch was over. They made the mistake! And they were not going to make the right order??? Then they ignored us for 30 minutes.

I agree with other commenters that I love the concept and location of Hamilton’s, but for dinner consistently find them lacking. Today I ordered take out, the salmon and the burger and was reminded that this is off my salmon list because it’s not cooked flavorfully. The portion size is also very disappointing for the price, and disappointing as a dinner portion.

Hamilton’s is a staple in the neighborhood and it’s usually packed with barely any tables available; I had dinner here years ago and the food was great.Today I went for dinner with my husband and I ordered the pretzel with mustard ($7) since I ate earlier and wasn’t too hungry. My husband got the Rueben sandwich with roasted potato wedges ($21). My pretzel was fine. His sandwich was also ok-it had a good amount of meat on it but the bread got soggy. We also got “warm homemade buttermilk biscuit” with honey almond butter ($5) and the biscuit was cold, dry and a little on the burnt side. The almond honey butter was delicious. Our server was very nice and our food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner. For drinks we got (jalepeno guava soju margarita)- this was very good and (bees knees martini)-this was ok. We had high expectations for the food because we had dinner there before but this time around it was not the best. There is plenty of seating on the inside and outside. I might come back for brunch to give it another try but we weren’t too impressed with the food today.

I used to live pretty close to this place and went there probably at least 10 times. They don't have a whole lot of things on their menu but what they do have is pretty good. I like their orzo which comes with spinach, feta cheese and pine nuts. They have the option to put chicken or shrimp in it but I prefer vegetarian. I had the grilled salmon a few times and at times it was perfect, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside and at times it was dry so not always consistent, however it is reasonably priced considering what grilled salmon would cost you at other places near by. I like the option of sitting outside, that works out very well if you prefer to have some privacy. I like the lights that they have outside as well and the fire heating apparatuses, whatever those are called. I really enjoyed the soju alcoholic drink they have there, my favorite being the guava jalapeño one, very tasty indeed. The service was always good, kind of laid back and their bathroom is very clean and quite charming. Even though the salmon was not always perfect, never the less it was always a good experience coming here so I give it a 5.

Quintessential neighborhood corner eatery. I love it here. The atmosphere and the service is just as warm as the date cake, which is one of my favorite things on the menu. I became familiar with Hamiltons during the lockdown. Their food delivered in a fashion that is hard to beat. Their level of intentionality is unmatched. I highly recommend a visit. If you can't visit, place an order. You won't be disappointed.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 10 years, and even before that, would take my mother to Alchemy when she would visit from Ireland. I'd take my daughter there once a week, we'd order take out from there, and my husband would stop in there for a beer more than occasionally. SO, my family have given Georgia (the owner of both) a shit ton of money over the years. A little over a year ago, Georgia pulled me aside and told me that she has a problem with me, because I am 'inconsistent' with my tips. 1) I am an immigrant. Came to NYC from Ireland in the 1980's and my father would pay our rent from the tips he made. 2) I don't always have a lot of money; I am a teacher. 3) I always tip whatever I can everywhere I go, and it's always 20%. How dare she pull me aside to admonish me for something that she weirdly is monitoring?? WTF? The food is overpriced and she's a dick.
