Came by on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but luckily I joined the waitlist so I didn't have to physically wait there. First off the atmosphere was pretty nice, music playing in the background and big screen playing the MTV in the back of the store. The menu was had a few interesting cold dishes and also skewers on top of the fish menu. I was disappointed with the fish as it wasn't very flavorful, there was garlic that was minced but not enough. There was also a bunch of garlics that was in a single garlics from the cover but barely added any flavor. The service was great because the staff came by to ask us how was the food and we briefly mentioned it's lacking in flavor so he brought the fish back in and had the more garlics added. The flavor was so not as flavorful as I was hoping which is a personal preference, it felt like something was missing. I usually go to Xun Yu Si Kao which is a bit more rundown but makes their spicy fish very garlicky. It was a good experience but the food was not good enough for me to want to come back.

Everything was delicious but didn’t stand out to me. There’s a ton of places on 8th Ave with the same dishes with larger portions. I was disappointed in how small portions were for the price tag. We ordered two large fishes. The fishes were not good but the seasoning and soup were great (The fish had very little meat in them and didn’t taste as good as the garnishes) The stand out factor was the garnishes which is crazy!
This isn’t a spot I would be a regular customer since it was mediocre and expensive.

ate the pickled fish here yesterday with my friend, and both of us had severe diarrhea the entire day afterward. We didn’t have any other food that could have caused this, so it was clearly from this meal. This was very disappointing and honestly unacceptable. Please check your food freshness and hygiene, because this made us really sick.

Everytime I visit NYC’s 8th Avenue there’s going to be a day where my family and I will dine out at this place. It’s so delicious, my personal favorites are the Spicy Bullfrog and Beef Skewers. The servers are also always courteous and fast from our experience. We highly recommend this spot 👍.

I’ve been to this place so many times and just realized I never left a review.
This is our go to date night (or lunch) place. Aside from the food, my wife loves the Chinese music playing on the karaoke screen. The service is impeccable. Waiters are constantly watching out for you and proactively asking if you want a change of plates, more water napkins etc.
Food - I’ve tried most of the hot pot dishes. Favorite is the fresh pepper flavor frog. Sides to get are the arctic clams, bbq pig foot, lamb and beef skewers, okra, oyster.
Just a note, There’s not a lot of non spicy food. My kids usually get the udon.
I’ve been there a lot it’s always good but sometimes the taste is different and the amount seems less. I’ll still go there though!

The bullfrog was pretty good too, probably would’ve been better if it was spicier, we chose the less spicy version. The nuts and dessert were great too. Only thing is it’s kind of expensive.
