Lucky Vegetarian Reviews
This will be our new go-to spot! We ordered take-out from here a few weeks ago and it was so good, we decided to dine-in here tonight. The food was absolutely delicious, affordable, and came out quickly. We got 3 entrees and 2 bowls of rice for $48. A vegan’s dream! We got the mapo tofu, sesame “chicken” and general tso’s tofu. I can’t say enough good things. Will be back!
We had some truly amazing vegan food here and loved walking around Brooklyn's Chinatown! Unfussy, delicious, and incredibly generous portions for the price (especially in New York). Highly and happily recommend this spot!
Lovely food, amazing service and great portions. Even if you’re not vegan or vegetarian, the food is actually mind blowing.

Lucky Vegetarian is a hidden gem, located in the basement of a Buddhist Temple. The entrance may look like a big phone booth, but once inside, the atmosphere is dark, relaxing, and filled with the smell of incense. The workers are friendly, and there is free wifi and a clean bathroom. The menu offers a variety of vegetarian twists on classic Chinese dishes, including stewed eggplant clay pot and Korean Veg sliced fish with bean curd clay pot. The restaurant is known for its amazing vegetarian Chinese fare, making vegan takes on everyone’s favorite dishes and using many ingredients to replicate the textures and taste of meat. They also have a lunch special with an entree, soup, and rice for $8.50. The service is quick and attentive, with staff fluent in English and Chinese, making it a great spot for a delicious vegetarian meal. Portions are huge for the price, and the food is both cheap and stellar. While there is not much decor, the restaurant is clean and comfortable. It is recommended to check for nuts or seeds on dishes due to allergy concerns. Overall, Lucky Vegetarian is a place worth trying for anyone looking for tasty vegetarian alternatives to meat-based Chinese food.
