Lovely staff, good coffee and matcha and a nice place to do some work or read a book. This is a new location so it’s very clean and modern and has a nice vibe.

The poor reviews of this place are accurate. Energy there is a bummer.

Had high hopes for this HG outpost since it's bigger than the other in the Fort Greene/Prospect Heights area. The additional seating is fantastic. The coffee is great. The pastries are great. Service was lacking. I came on an early Saturday afternoon when it wasn't crowded and there was no one else at the register. Cashiers aren't friendly or welcoming. Weird experience where the cashier's eyes almost bulged out of their sockets when I put my hand in my handbag to pull out my card. Wouldn't go back.

I just got my manicure and against my better judgment stopped off to this location to get coffee. Stood in line order my latte with half and half and waited. The girl called out, “Regular Latte” and I stepped up thinking it was mine. It wasn’t. She stated I think this one is for the previous customer. She then asked me what I ordered and I told her a latte with half and half.. she then rudely cut me off saying “Right.. regular and yours is half and half!!” I was shocked. So I said “Um okay?!’ One she realized she crossed a line, she then back pedaled saying “I was just kidding!” I don’t know you. I’m not a regular customer for you to be kidding with. The regular coffee shop I go to don’t even talk to me like that. How disrespectful and entitled for this woman to try to embarrass me in front of other customers. I don’t know if she has children, pets… or even family members. Play with them! Don’t play with customers that you don’t know. That was a RIDICULOUS EXPERIENCE!! Not to mentioned I tipped these MFs!

This business name parallels Ghost Festival or Hungry Ghost Festival, a Chinese festival for worshiping ancestors filled with food offerings, and ancestral rites in the presence of the tombstone in a cemetery. During my professional travels while in Brooklyn I am unable to purchase any food for offering my beloved ancestors. Nevertheless, morning rituals calls upon small green tea $3.00 and my favorite classic chocolate chip cookie $3.50. Service is somewhat attentive as I specifically requested chocolate chip cookie, but a female staff did not practice active listening and assumed I desire a scone. The tea brand Hungry Ghost Coffee offers is Seredipi Tea. My cookie was "nom nom" for ravenous eating as per Cookie Monster, a Sesame Street's character. There are abundant seating for all the laptop and cell phone addict junkies can phubbing all day. It appears a very relaxed and casual atmosphere where one can be productive with work or reading an entire book without disturbance. I do not know if there are any "table hibernation" pending busy times. Nota bene: This business uses Square paperless cash register and sales receipts can be produced is via email or text only. I prefer Counterpoint as a functional and effective POS cash register. Loyalty reward points are issued appearing to be allocated in the sales receipt.

The quality of the food and beverages are not worth the price AT ALL. Paid 4.90 for a watered down tea. Don't reccomend.

My experience here was awful! The service couldn’t have been more rude or disrespectful. First I’m in the line and the woman in front of me asked something about her milk in her macchiato and the barista sarcastically says “the macchiato has milk because all macchiatos are made of milk” and both baristas look at themselves and start laughing. Then I order my ice latte and it is filled with shaved ice and looks more like a frozen coffee then a latte. I kindly asked if I could have just regular ice but I say the word frozen for some reason while trying to explain to the barista (who already has an attitude) and he says “all ice is frozen”. I live around the corner and was a regular, never coming back.

I really wanted to like this place, however was disappointed with my experience here. I was looking for a spot to sit down for coffee and some food. The name made me assume they would have actual food but they only have small pastries. I got an iced latte and a ham and cheese croissant for $14. They don’t have anything to heat up the food so my croissant was stale and cold—which really ruins the ham and cheese part. The coffee was good but very overpriced for the sizes that they have. When I kindly asked to add a little bit more milk to my latte the barista gave me the cold shoulder and said “no, you should have told me in the first place.” I will not be coming back here. :(

This shop served me the best cup of hot chocolate I've ever had in my life. The chocolate croissants were fresh as well and tasted amazing. The staff were very kind and struck up a nice conversation with me while I was waiting for my order. I've definitely found my new favorite spot.
