I selected Katie O as the place for my daughter her sister and I to eat. We enjoyed the food and I ordered take-out as well šŸ˜€ I definitely suggest Katie O. You won't be disappointed with the food people. Also Daryll is so personable and Katie is awesome too.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food samples were not taken from the same place the order was filled. The flavor profile overall was Salt and Sugar. Once again very nice people.

My husband was craving fried chicken. We stumbled upon this small southern restaurant in Flatbush. When we entered they asked if it was our first time, we replied yes. We were then provided samples of the Mac n cheese, yams, cornbread stuffing, banana pudding and soul punch (non-alcoholic). Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered a platter with fried chicken, potato salad and Mac n cheese as well as a snack box of fried shrimp, salad & dinner roll. Stop by and enjoy the music, vibes, awesome service and delicious food.

Truly THE best soul food in New York and the rest don’t compare at all. Her food is so good that I take it out the container and put it on the plate because it takes like true cooking

A tad on the pricey side where soul food is concerned BUT ABSOLUTELY worth it!!!! Their Fried Chicken is to die for, potato salad is out of this world! The banana pudding as well is absolute decadence! This is just to name a few of my favorites. The atmosphere is amazing, such warm and inviting service. The first time I visited I was able to taste a sample of anything my heart desired. 10/10 food and service. Please try!

This is A GEM of a restaurant Authentic!?

! I mean can i list how refreshing this business is ?!?!?……
Soul~Food =the magic behind this food is you can feel it, in your soul~ made with Love……and ā€œ Katie O’s ā€œhas conquered just that.
I want to give Ms.Katie her flowers because from the presentation, to every single bite you can see and taste the time , the love, the legacy, the soul, and great clean food used in every recipe !seemingly no shortcuts! For me it was nostalgic, it reminded me of the taste & labor of my grandmas ā€œmomma’sā€ cooking . A labor of love feeding all and no matter how much the recipe was pass down no one could do it like momma.
Well Katie O’s i know your predecessors are smiling as you feed the community with your amazing flavors , great portions and service . I will continue to support you ! And spread the word !…Soulfood use to be everywhere now it is a luxury it has transformed into fusions of cuisines and that’s great, However , this restaurant is the real deal Holyfield???.
Soul food is time consuming … and it cost to serve the community … lets all support Katie O’s Trust and believe you will not be sorry. The Foodie in me had to express this , long winded and all!! I give the people … all races , backgrounds etc a heads up because trust and believe you don’t have to go south to get that great southern eating in ya mouth ?.

Guys You Gotta go and get you some Katie o’s!!??up this business will thrive.

Okay, the food is decent, however IT IS NOT WORTH $25 dollars, the quality of the food, the taste and the portion is NOT WORTH NOBODIES $25 dollars. I felt sad eating my food because I felt robbed, this is not a purchase that feels like a treat or makes you feel good about yourself or the money spent. The wings were small, and oily, yams were mashed and watery, collards also tasted sweet. And then I spent $25 dollars for it, which I’m disappointed in myself for, knowing 4 wings and 2 sides ain’t worth $25 dollars. Y’all don’t even give no cornbread or nothing lol. A shame.

Edit: thank you for your reply. As someone from the south, I’m familiar with using a pinch of sugar to cut the bitterness and gas but also a bit of vinegar to cut sweetness and add some flavor. I’ve never never had sweet collards in the south only up north. What I’m implying in this review is the the price is not worth it, if it reflects the price of food today it does not reflect the price of soul food from other places that are currently viral in Brooklyn ny, serving a larger community and travelers, running out of food daily, and giving out larger portions, I will only not name such places out of respect for your business because you all seem very nice and have great customer service. And in regards to labor, you’re serving dinner rolls as complimentary to the meal, when we know at-least a burnt corner piece of cornbread would have been the bare minimum for $25 dollar 4 piece and 2 sides, my yams were mashed, no cut pieces, don’t look like anyone put any labor into cutting yams because those also tasted canned. I waited a while for y’all to open back up, I miss the old menu, old prices, and old portions. It’s just not worth it for me anymore but I encourage anyone reading this to give it a try.
