Ok wow! We've passed by here so many times but it was never open. Serendipitously, we walked by, saw that it was open, and stopped in. We are SO glad we did. My husband and I met "Darrell" who was smiling from behind the counter. Before we even had a chance to browse the menu, he was offering us samples of lemonade and best-seller sides. He offered us 6 different foods from the menu, and even one that wasn't on the menu. The customer experience was off the charts. We got a platter with fried chicken, mac n cheese, and fries. For the $25 price tag, it was worthy. The quality of the food was exactly what we were looking for. This isn't "cheap" soul food by any means. The mac n cheese had the perfect texture, and was perfectly spiced. My husband said the fried chicken was crisp and fresh, Darrell boasted about the fact that they use fresh ingredients only, you can taste it! We dove in way too quick to take a pic, but it was awesome. Their multi fruit lemonade was great too!

The food here is out of this world. I came here after church from a recommendation and I'm forever a fan. I ordered the turkey wings with mash potatoes and potatoe salad with banana pudding. The banana pudding will make you slap someone if they try to take a bite of yours. I'm definitely coming back here. They also cater too. You will not be disappointed. I ate the food and forgot to take pictures. I almost forgot the best part. They give you samples before you buy. ??????

If you want authentic southern food, this is a place you need to go to.The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that it’s not opened Monday through Thursday. They’re only opened Friday through Sunday.

The wings were extremely bland. I had to add things to them to make them edible. Also had a strong smell/taste of fish. The over/manager should be aware that people have fish/seafood allergies. It would be wise to use separate frying stations for fish/seafood. The fries were clearly from a bag of frozen fries and were sadly not tasty. They didn’t give me the other side that I had ordered. A thumbs down for this establishment.

Katie O is a tour de force—this isn’t just a restaurant, this is COMMUNITY IN ACTION. This woman has taken it upon herself to feed the world, starting with her community and New York City as a whole. During the pandemic she fed 500 people a day and has made it her mission to find every way possible to feed everyone she can. Come support this place and you’ll be blessed, if you have the honor to meet her, bless her! I usually just review the food but I am wowed by how much work this person does to spread food as love. I hope Keith Lee comes back to New York to come here because she deserves it

I love this place, the chicken was great. The atmosphere was nice. I felt welcomed by the staff. It felt like I was back at home or a friend's place that had a welcoming family. Their Mac n cheese was top notch. I could tell the chef put her heart and soul into it. The only downside is that they're open on weekends. However, the reason why, from my understanding, is that she spends a lot of her time cooking for a food bank. Also, it's black owned. So go and support this place meow.

I ordered takeout and I wanted to lick the plate! (whispering: "actually I did, but don't tell anyone...")I enjoyed every morsel and wished that I had eaten more slowly. There is only wish that I can think of regarding Katie O's, the wish is that I had another stomach so that I could have eaten more! Great job!!!
