Kowloon Tong is a new, spacious restaurant with a pink theme, including pink walls, lights, and a cherry blossom tree for photos. They are open until 11 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends, closed on Mondays.
The restaurant offers a variety of desserts, such as the Mango Pomelo Coconut Shaved Ice with Green Tea Ice Cream, which is highly recommended. The Coconut Shaved Ice with Ube paste, mochi, and grass jelly is also popular, with a smooth and fine shaved ice texture. However, the mochi has a light lychee taste or a strong freezer taste, which might not be to everyone's liking. The Almond Paste Soup with Sesame Balls is recommended for those looking for a hot dessert.
The Strawberry Soufflé Pancake is a must-try, with a fluffy pancake texture and slightly sweet cream that complements the fresh strawberry. However, it takes over 15 minutes to prepare.
However, the Black Sesame Paste and Matcha Soufflé Pancakes were disappointing and not recommended. The Grape Tea is also not recommended as it is watered down.
The service is attentive, helpful, and welcoming. Overall, Kowloon Tong is a great addition to the neighborhood with a unique pink theme and a variety of dessert options.
