Hope this place shuts down... the owner treated his cooks terribly, never paid anyone on time or what they were owed, and never gave waitresses tips... and he still owes multiple former workers money that they never got. PS: if you're a business owner who's going to treat your employees unethically, you should make them sign an NDA first before you hire them. Otherwise your employees will eventually talk to people in the neighborhood and tell us. I regret patronizing this restaurant last year. I ran into one of your former waitresses yesterday and she echoed the same things as one of the other waitresses did --- abusive work environment, tip stealing, understaffing, not getting paid on time, and still being owed money after they left. Shame.

Yummy food, relaxed atmosphere. I'll be sure to try again!

I used to eat here, but I learned the owner owes my friend Nathan and my friend Toni a good deal of money. I won't patronize this resturant again, nor will I have my friends submit catering requests to la tabun for holidays. Olympic Pita is so much more ethical and such a better business.

Do your research on this place before you decide to eat their "fresh" "made daily" food.

I had their pizza , considering how picky I am when it come to pizza ,I can say it was delicious! The service was quick and very friendly . Will definitely come back.

The owner still owes my friend’s son Nathan two weeks worth of pay. Which he asked for & never received it despite having a verbal agreement with the boss who pays people under the table. He quit after realizing he wasn’t getting paid or the tips. Not an ethical establishment, please support better local businesses. I will amend my review when Nathan and his other coworker he was talking about finally get their long overdue paycheck. In the meanwhile, I’ll be me making sure none of my friends and family have their birthday celebrations here.

Went there today for breakfast service was extremely slow took forever To get the food, my wife's food took very long for an omelet, I finished my food by the time her food came. Her bread came frozen ice inside the omelet was cold as well it was sitting on the counter In front of us but it seemed like they were waiting for the bread to defrost. But it didn't because it still came frozen solid the manager saw that it was ice and offered us a khajapuri instead which took a while also... her omelet was supposed to come with coffee and orange juice which they did not serve with it until I asked the waiter for it and he answered me " oh you want the orange juice and coffee?" By the time we got the orange juice and coffee we were ready to leave... the manager "compensated" us by giving us a blueberry muffin... however I honestly don't think we would return unless the reviews change to excellent service. Food has a lot of potential it could be really good. But it was cold and unenjoyable

This place is a more upscale place with nice decor and warm atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious, those pictures dont do justice! The soups were nice n hot and very flavorful. The pizza was nice and crispy and the tomato sauce was absolutely heaven on earth! Overall a very pleasant experience with delicious food and friendly staff.

My friends daughter used to be a server at La Tabun and I ate here quite a few times. The service usually disorganized and even though it’s kosher certified my friends daughter told me about how the establishment violates or doesn’t observe a lot of the rules set by the mashgiach. Kosher in name only, according to her. I remember once asking if I could know which brand of olive oil they used and the waitress was instructed by the manager not to tell or show me. Makes y think....

This place has slow service and (now) a very rude young waitress. The only redeeming quality is that the food is usually excellent. For the price you pay, the aesthetic should be a lot less like a cafeteria and more like a fine restaurant.

Really great food. I love Italian Food. The food was delicious. Highly recommended if you are looking for tasty food at a reasonable price.

Can the owner of this restaurant please explain if the automatic gratuity actually goes (and has been in the past) to the waitresses or not? Because from what I've heard from people who used to work there... they never got the automatic gratuity. And so is this additional charge a "service charge" instead? And why isn't it advertise on the menu as according to NYS law?

Super slow service, inattentive waitresses. But the food was really good. Will consider changing review once service improves. Will consider coming back, though. Food was very yummy (although it take a while to come out).
