We read about these saucy sandwiches in the NY Times, and they definitely are worth the hype!

We had the pulled pork and Mexican cheese sandwiches drenched in sauce. Absolutely delicious!

The bread is apparently custom made just for Macario and the fillings are very flavorful. The chicharrones with guacamole were also fluffy and crispy. The staff are lovely and are happy to make suggestions.

Happy to have a new favorite sandwich place.

What may appear a simply prepared sandwich reveals itself a delightfully messy, impressively tasty, composition of quality ingredients served by super friendly staff- a great addition to the neighborhood and the greater city's food scene!

Though the pork sandwich may be the star, the chicken and even the cheese sandwich are worthy side quests for any NYC sandwich lover grabbing a bite at Macario. Pro tip: add pickled jalapenos to your cheese sandwich for some extra zing (they're great on any sandwich of course).

Tried this new spot on 4th Ave.
The owners did such a great job with painting and the finishes on the restaurant. Service and food is amazing. Portion sizes are large. Very happy with the taste of their pork nachos and their home made sauce on their sandwiches. Definitely coming back.

Thrilled that this place opened up so close to our house. Just tried a pork lonche bañado for the first time and it was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try the chicken & cheese versions. Friendly staff adds to an already comfortable atmosphere.

Wonderful people running this loncheria! It’s an interesting backstory about this part of Guadalajaran cuisine. They have really custom bread they’ve developed with a local bakery for authenticity and source fresh ingredients. You can taste the freshness, quality, and the unique history/heritage. We enjoyed speaking to the owner and I think everyone should give this a try! Really cool way to get a glimpse of that part of North America through the taste buds and texture of the crafted dishes. It’s a simple, straightforward menu that might offer clarity into the cultural aspect of the cuisine, I think. Delicious!!!

Absolutely dope sandwich. Go for the pulled pork (add chipotles and pickled jalapenos), roll up your sleeves and get busy. Wash it all down with side of guac and chicharrones. Cool owner, awesome staff. ⚡

The staff, service and incredible food is something you can’t miss. It’s a truly authentic sandwich and unlike something i’ve ever had here. You can tell this is a product that is thought out and cared for, and you cannot miss it. The sauce on that sandwich is unforgettable. and the guacamole and pork rinds is so good!!
