Passed this place and thought how rare it was to see a “hero shop” so I thought I’d try and it would be more respectable than a bodega sandwich. There were a lot of people in there so it seemed like a good choice now I’m realizing it was construction workers, hospital workers and transplants from all the new construction who have limited lunch choices or just don’t know any better. $12 normal hero had a strange sweet like vinegar taste that ruined the whole thing. We saw an article in Bon Appetit magazine about the artichoke parm hero, and we had to try it. So delicious!! The staff is really nice too. Mama Louisa's is an old-school Bklyn sandwich shop. We will be back!
