Food not good. Fish tacos really bad

The food is good but the service is extremely slow. It almost felt like they are randomly fulfilling orders. I stood there waiting for our food for a long time and saw the chef jumping around the list of orders. What’s the point of placing an order online 20 mins ahead of time and still waiting 20+ mins in the store?

Well, I paid $18 for a “stake” burrito filled with rice and pico de gallo. It was ok but not worth the price.
Def Not ordering here again unfortunately.

I ordered delivery from here tonight, and I screwed up my order and my delivery address. The servers on the phone with me went above and beyond to get me my food. I really love the burritos here, and would recommend them to anyone, so to be treated so graciously felt like more than I deserved. Thank you, Maya Taqueria.

Let's talk about the food. I usually get a burrito, because there are many to choose from and they're all great. Tonight, I got the Chile relleno burrito, which was the perfect texture, with well-seasoned, gooey, lovely, eggy insides. It came with a hefty pile of tortilla chips (clearly homemade!) and two kinds of fantastic salsa. These kinds of goodies are not guaranteed at every Mexican restaurant. Do not look a gift Taqueria in the mouth!

The wait was a little slow but worth it! They were packed. My goodness, it was so good! Love the salsa station too…perfect 🥹 we got chips and guac too but I forgot to get a picture! It went too fast! Lol. We sat in the back courtyard area. Cute and shaded

Love this place. It’s a small local gem with kind staff, devious food and good portions! I’ve never had a bad experience. My only wish… it be open 24/7 😂

what is there to say? simply a lovely establishment with the best chicken mole that I ass know of — I ate there yesterday and today

The tacos are so-so but the chips and nachos are worth seeking out -- slightly chewy (but in a good way!) and they hold up well for takeout.

What drew me to this place was they marketing themselves as California style Mexican food, I pictured the amazing Mexican food I used to get at Taqueria Pancho Villa in the Mission in SF.
I tried their Special Burrito and I was not impressed at all, a lot of rice and occasionally you might bump into a small piece of chicken, I thought they are trying to save money in the wrong places.
Also the Salsa bar, that’s all the charm of the Cali Mexican style, it was not impressive, water down sauces, none of them were actually spicy!
The backyard is nice but on Vanderbilt everyone likes to sit on the sidewalk, why not have outdoor seating like everyone else!

We were there for lunchtime. I’m sharing our experience to help the staff be better.
The chicken tacos were stringy and hard to chew. Had to get up and get cutlery to eat my rice & beans which were delicious. We sat in the backyard. There were droppings from the trees above, spider webs above on the grid that’s there to stop tree debris which didn’t do a good job. Puddle of water in the corner booth.
This place can be so much more if only the staffing was more professional. Thank goodness I carry Lysol wipes the table wasn’t cleaned from previous guests.. DO BETTER!!!

Food was absolutely dreadful! Somehow dry and soggy at the same time. Sloppy tacos with mountains of old shredded lettuce piled on top. What a disappointing waste of money.
