This place is always closed. Their hours aren't updated. There is still a sign that says see you in April. It's the end of May. I love and miss these sandwich ice creams so much. I'm depressed!

I've been meaning to try Melt for a while but was a little skeptic based on their previous reviews- would hate for the cookie part of the ice cream sandwich to be hardened/frozen. Fortunately it was far from that. It obviously wasn't a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie but it didn't have to be- it was at the right temperature to enjoy with the ice cream. Do be wary- they melt SUPER quickly. Granted it was also super hot outside. I believe I got the mint ice cream sandwich and it was really good. I hope they can come up with some innovative flavors but seems like for now I've got to try all of the classics first!

Extremely unimpressed with this place. It is just a tiny walk in "parlor" the size of a closet, and consists of a guy standing in front of a freezer handing out prepackaged ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream had no flavor. The cookie, which was chocolate chip walnut for me, did not taste fresh at all. I was expecting a true ice cream parlor that I could walk into, have have fresh cookies come out of an oven and a fresh scoop of homemade ice cream for my sandwich. Instead I get handed this bite sized pre packaged sandwich for $6. Definitely not worth it.

Tried this at the cart on the highline. Have to say that as a New Yorker who has tried many of the ice cream spots around NYC, including some of the premium ice cream trucks, this was not impressive. I purchased the snickerdoodle (which i didn’t get for myself) and the chocolate chip/walnut (which this is review is for). The chocolate chip cookie didn’t taste like anything. How does that happen? The ice cream also didn’t taste like much. I was very unimpressed. I tried to let the ice cream melt a little into the cookie to see if i could get some flavor, but nope. The cookie just tastes like a mass produced cookie, with non premium ingredients. The texture was a bit too crumbly, and i felt like i was like eating a chips ahoy cookie, but with less flavor. Well i was told that the snickerdoodle was tasty. Maybe I’ll try the snickerdoodle next time.

Not what the store seems. Just a guy with a box of sandwiches. Only two flavors available and most were smushed.

I didn't go to the actual bakery, but I ate the snickerdoodle ice dream sandwich at the manhattan high line and it was amazing! The snickerdoodle cookie was delicious, and the cinnamon ice cream was so good!

Disappointing. Clearly pre-prepared. Tastes old. Have the integrity to assemble a premium priced ice cream sandwich from fresh cookies *at* the point of sale.

Good riddens the the location on orchard street. Years ago when they opened they had fresh product and the sandwiches were the same size as MeatBall shop and insomnia cookies and others- then all of a sudden the shrank in size by about 30% & the price went up... then they shrank in size another 30% and the price was jacked up again... then the prices rose for a third time... and then they introduced SMALLER sandwiches for pretty much the same price as the original sandwiches the quality went down significantly the past several years- I've heard from MANY other people as I stoped eating these years ago when they shrank and tasted like garbage... bland icecream with over frozen texture... overcooked or even burnt cookies... insert eye roll here. Also- they deep freeze their sandwiches in dry ice, and sell sandwiches that are sitting in their freezers for mayne even YEARS!! that's the trick with keeping them in dry ice as opposed to regular commercial freezers, the cost is cheaper and you can Keep them in there until they sell lol and by time they thaw and you are actually eating it you are 5 blocks away and find out that it's lost it's flavor, texture & aroma Ect...

This is one of my favorite ice cream sandwiches in the entire world. If you follow me, you know I'm pretty keen to Pizza, Ice cream, Asian and Italian food by now. I found melt in the annual pop up fairs in Madison Park area. They were originally one of the few ice cream vendors on grounds and caught my attention with their walnut chocolate chip cookie with vanilla bean ice cream. I bought one and it's been a wrap ever since then. I have had all the flavors over the years ranging from cinnamon ice cream to cheesecake ice cream with s'mores type cookies to red velvet type cookies. Absolutely delicious no matter the combination. I will say that most times for me nothing trumps the original walnut chocolate chip cookie with vanilla bean ice cream and remains my absolute favorite pick every single time. They have loyalty cards as well, so that works for me! Lol

I'm a s***** for ice cream sandwiches and Melt makes a sandwich that hit the spot! My favorite one is definitely the Morticia and the Chocolate Chip mint was wonderful as well. They have a location on Governors Island as well so its the perfect summer park snack when you're on the island. Two thumbs up here!
