As a fellow Mexican I have to say… Wow.
We came here specifically for the Chile en Nogada, it’s September and in Mexico is the season to eat and prepare them, so we got nostalgic and wanted one.
This hit home so good, it was for the heart not the stomach.
Do yourself a favor and order the chile en nogada to take yourself into an experience of flavors.
The place is beautiful and got even better when I saw this beautiful bulldog, I believe is the owner dog. Everyone was very nice.
Thanks for bringing Mexico close to me.

I love this place. I never leave reviews but this place deserves it. Everything is delicious and very nicely presented. Their enchiladas de mole is superb! They have very unique menu items while keeping it authentic. The staff is friendly, the bartender super knowledgeable about his mezcal.
Tiny, super expensive hipster tacos. Cocktails are good but, yes, expensive. Lots of mostly naked hipster chicks though.

If you're disappointed with NYC Mexican food, don't continue sleeping on Mesa Coyocan. It's gotta be the best Mexican food in this city. I grew up a lot closer to Mexico than most New Yorkers did, and the Mexican food in this city is endlessly (and surprisingly!) disappointing. People told me I wouldn't be able to get good Mexican food in NYC but I flat-out didn't believe them until I moved here. MESA COYOCAN IS BUILT DIFFERENT! Cocktails always top-notch, I've never gotten anything less than good service, and the food is fantastic.

Fancy mexican food is not my thing, when they charge double for the same food because it is on a plate in dim lighting. I found this place particularly overpriced and under-seasoned.

Very good service, the waitresses are very friendly and respectful, the flavors are still the same in the green sauce and the red sauce, very good, I recommend them.

Love this place, food is always good, fast and delicious. The staff was so nice and accommodating. My party was running late and they let me chill at the table until they all came.
