Nancy is my best friend. I love that woman. I cannot even tell you what a wonderful blessing of a human Nancy is. Nancy for president 2025. Bless you Nancy. ??? I would die for Nancy. If Nancy needed a kidney, I would give her my kidney. If Nancy didn't need a kidney, I would give her my kidney anyway. She's just that great!Listen I've interacted with a lot of surly bouncers in my day, and has she got the routine down pat! What an authentic New York experience! Ayy I'm walking heah! Statue of liberty! Lamb over rice! Nancy at Metropolitan!

Not a place to eat but one can catch the L-train.

If you want to get attacked for no reason then come here. They treat their patrons like trash and the owner does nothing about it. Fire that black bouncer that punched my friend in the face.

Bartenders are uneducated and treat customers poorly. And if you don't tip them at the moment they get upset. And they talk to you rudely, it's not worth going to these places of low prestige.

Bar staff had to ask me what’s in a vodka soda and then argued with me when I only tipped 20%

This is literally the worse gay bar or club I ever been to in my entire life. When I went they had no working sinks,I think also no working toilets. The bartender named "Daniel" was EXTREMELY rude to me,VERY,I asked him why me and my friend were being asked to give up our seats when there were other patrons who were not asked to do so, being it was my first time there I did not understand,he answered in a very nasty shady catty mean way saying,"cause honey, life is unfair and it's about to be unfair for you now!",and he snatched the coaster from where it was infront of me. I responded with,"Actually life is very fair for me,may I please speak to your manager",He goes gets the manager,Steven McEnrue, and Daniel (the bartender proceeds to misgender me and starts to say,"She is mad because I told her," I corrected him and said,"Excuse me sir,I'm a he" since I am biologically born male I'm just extremely feminine (gender queer/non conforming),Steven, the manager proceeds to yell at me in a nasty horrible way saying,"Okay mister sister!","I said, excuse me?" He literally responded with,"You heard me bitch!" I have never in my life been more insulted, humiliated and disrespected by such low budget trashy cheap people in my entire life. It gets better,I tried contacting someone in a higher position to tell them the situation,I called,I emailed,I sent Facebook and Instagram messages, guess who runs all these things? Steven McEnrue and Daniel the bartender, that's why they feel they can do whatever they want to anyone, because they really feel they'll get away with it. I had to file a F.O.I.L. and for some reason I was unable to contact the owners,I will try again. I feel like suing this place,I am not the only one with a horror story, please look up their Google reviews. I will fight this to the bone to get justice because I will not be treated this way by anyone, ESPECIALLY not anyone in MY OWN "COMMUNITY",What a shame. I forgot to mention I went back to try to find out who the owners were,Daniel the bartender was there and pointed a knife at me and told me to get out,I called the police,he lied to the police and said he never pointed a knife at me,as did some customers who I guess were his friends or favorites. These guys are lucky I'm not someone who is evil or a bad person, cause if I was anyone else I'd wait for them outside and tell my people to come get them or cause harm to them or their horrible establishment, but I wouldn't ever do that because I'm not that type of person. But Metropolitan gay bar,is this who you are and what you represent? This is your staff? Your staff is a reflection of who you are,is this who you are?

Very chill vibe at Metropolitan. I ended up there late on a Tuesday with a friend. Bartenders were nice and drinks were so cheap-- $10 for two drinks? It was karaoke night which I personally dont partake in but is fun to watch. Mostly queer crowd here so very welcoming and accepting of all! They also have a pool table if you are into that. The bathrooms were a bit uncomfy mostly because the stall is so tiny (and i say that as a petite person). Don't know if I'd actively choose this bar myself on a night out but most of the people i met here were regulars so definitely a popular spot

Terrible! White female bouncer rejected us to enter, because we had only foreign ID cards. Super racist and not welcoming place, don’t recommend it at all.

Bartender is incredibly judgy of people who come for the social events but physically CANNOT consume alcohol (health issues). It’s New York, the bar is the 3rd place for all these social events.

Is it ok to assault someone? This bar thinks so—the bar man outside hit me upside the head because my friend is Arab and they don’t like that apparently. Avoid at all costs

This could be an amazing space but too often they charge a cover when absolutely nothing is happening. It’s like a dive bar that pretends to be a club.

The bouncer cut us in line at pool? Weird
