Just went to Mirror in the Woods for the second time since moving to the neighborhood, and it didn’t disappoint. The space is intimate and cozy, perfect for cold weather, with an excellent selection of fresh teas. The matcha white hot chocolate was outstanding, and we loved the tofu and mushroom entrée along with the avocado mochi bites. Beautiful presentation all around — truly 10/10. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Food is absolutely good. Large size. Yummy.
The environment is very unique. Like a gallery.
It’s somewhere I will come back.
Two people, two nonalcoholic drinks, two dishes. Paid 52$/person. Good price considering its quantity and quality.
I hosted my 28th birthday party at Mirror Tea House in Brooklyn, and I truly could not have asked for a more perfect space or experience. I stumbled upon this place about two to three weeks before my birthday, and the moment I walked in, I instantly knew this was where I wanted to celebrate. The space is absolutely beautiful—warm, intimate, and thoughtfully designed, making it ideal for a special occasion.
Fumio, the owner, was incredible throughout the entire planning process. He was so kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making my birthday meaningful. From helping with the setup to ensuring everything flowed smoothly the day of, he went above and beyond. You can really feel that this place prioritizes care and hospitality over just being a rental space.
The food was phenomenal. We had eel, salmon, tofu, and vegetables, and everything was so fresh and delicious. The teas and sake were also incredible and elevated the entire experience—my guests couldn’t stop talking about it.
All of my friends had an amazing time and absolutely loved the space. I would 100% rent Mirror Tea House again for future events, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique venue with exceptional service, amazing food, and an unforgettable atmosphere.
If you cross a SOHO art space with a ryokan style (shoes off, seats are on the floor) eatery, you get this crazy cool place. Great food, music, and sake. Will be back for another date or with friends. The owner/host was super chill and clearly loves what he and his partner are doing. I walked by this place for 8 years on my way to work, because they play it subtle with an exterior that doesn’t hint at the big, open space inside.
A lovely intimate spot for tea infused with sake. Very nice and chill jazzy vibe. Food is so good and the owners are excellent to chat with.
Super cozy and relaxing shoes-off environment. Important to note that if you're dining in you're expected to order Sake or food. Had a tea, soup, and coffee with a friend. Fantastic experience <3
A favorite in the neighborhood.
The service was excellent! The mint cacao tea with oatmilk was to die for! The ambience was very peaceful yet modern. Truly a delightful experience. Reservation required. You take your shoes off at the door.
Great vibes, great drinks, great tea, and great food
The mint cacao tea was extremely fragrant. The yuzu ginger lemon soda hand crafted to perfection.

This place is such a rare find! From the moment we walked through the entrance, the vibes were immaculate — warm, inviting, and full of character. The entire space, from the dining area to the bathroom, was thoughtfully curated and cozy.
The food? Absolutely incredible. The tempura was light, crispy, and perfectly executed. They even managed to make beetroot and shredded carrot taste divine — no small feat!
There was an impressive array of teas to choose from and a surprisingly large variety of dishes. The scallops and shrimp mochi bites were generously portioned and full of flavor.
We dined at one of only four intimate tables. With a grand piano in the corner and our host quietly locking the door after we arrived, it truly felt like we were dining in someone’s home. Such a unique, special experience — one I won’t forget anytime soon.
I ordered the banana milk hojicha latte and it was exactly as advertised. also loved that it wasn’t so sweet
Great tea
