When the lights dim in Liar Lair you know you are in for a great night. The waitress, had a boundless familiarity with the wine list, which made each spore delicious than the last. The tunes soothed me into a sense of security that I hadn't felt since my bathroom trip that very night, which was accompanied by an old timey crackling radio which only added to the washrooms ambience.
Small things make a big difference. And Liar Lair has the small things down to a tee.

The scallop crudo and Caesar salad were amazing!
Came here hungry around 5pm on a Saturday and was able to snag a booth. Ordered 3 steak frites, broccolini, and a bottle of wine, and left with a happy belly and heart, knowing that I will be back time and time again. Our server was very kind and helped us select our wine, and all the servers were fun with great energy.
Only thing my sister left behind were the peppercorns because the steak frites were just that good! Best peppercorn sauce I ever had.

Liar Liar offers a great atmosphere with a nice neighborhood vibe. The food is exceptionally delicious and interesting. The steak frites, chicken burger, chocolate mousse, fried chicken sandwich, and broccolini are all great, though the slaw on the sandwich can be overpowering. The martinis are incredible. Prices are reasonable. It doesn't feel overly upscale and features a unique record player for music.
