I ordered pastas from Mozzarella Kosher on 264 Lee Avenue for a lunch meeting with a vendor who was visiting our facility. The vendor was paying for the meal, and we were putting the order through on our end. The pastas arrived on time, but they were burnt to a crisp. Completely inedible. I called immediately, sent a photo, and was told fresh pasta would arrive within 20 minutes.
1.5 hours passed. Nothing. I called to find out what was going on. The moment I said where I was calling from, they hung up on me. I called again, and they hung up again as soon as they realized it was me. I tried several more times, no answer. When I called from another phone, they picked up instantly. The second they realized it was me again, I asked for a refund or store credit. Their response was, “The pastas are arriving now, go get them.”
I explained the meeting was over, the vendor had left, and the vendor had already seen the burnt food that they were paying for. I told them the replacement never came, and I asked again for a refund so the vendor would not be charged for a lunch no one received. The Israeli manager answered, “What can I do? It is coming to you now,” and then hung up on me.
He had given me his personal number earlier to text the photos, so I tried messaging him as well, and he completely ignored my messages.
Everyone I told was shocked. People said I should post the full story because this kind of treatment is unacceptable. I waited a day because it is not my personality to review or post these kinds of things. I wanted to resolve it calmly. The next day, I called the store and asked to speak to a manager.
(The following conversations are recorded:)
The same manager answered. I calmly said, “Hi, were you the one I spoke to regarding the burnt pastas the other day?”
His immediate response was full aggression: “YES, WHAT DO YOU WANT?”
I explained I had reached out for compensation and nothing was done. I said, “My husband works in the food industry and was shocked by what happened. Something like this should not fly.”
He cut me off, yelling, “ARE YOU CALLING TO SHMOOZE OR ARE YOU CALLING TO TALK BUSINESS?”
I told him, “I tried messaging you as well, maybe it was out of line to text your personal cell, but I would like to be refunded.”
He continued screaming, saying he “knows exactly what happened,” that he “did not forget,” and, “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?”
I said, “Honestly I am shocked by your customer service,” and he hung up on me.
I called back. He answered with no greeting, just, “TELL ME WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO.”
I said, “Hi,” and he repeated, louder, “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO.”
I told him he was screaming at me.
He yelled, “IF YOU CONTINUE TALKING TO ME LIKE THAT, I WILL HANG UP ON YOU AGAIN.”
I said, “I am shocked you are talking to me this way,” and he hung up again.
At that point I realized there was nothing to respect or protect about this place. The behavior was not just unprofessional, it was abusive, hostile, and completely lacking any respect for customers. The way they talk to people is disgusting. We never ate a single bite, and the vendor was left paying for a lunch that did not happen. After reading other Google reviews, it is obvious this is not a one-time incident, it is a pattern.
I have never left a review like this, but this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had from any restaurant. If you value your money, your time, or basic human decency, avoid this place.

This was our first eating out experience in Williamsburg and the whole family was very impressed. The food was fresh and delicious with quick service. The place is clean and has nice big tables to accommodate large families.

Ordered specifically from them directly because I was told that the pizza would arrive when I needed it.
The owner guaranteed that I would get it on time.
Lack of responsibility and customer service.
