Very simple restaurant, just a few seats. The main thing is take out. You can order and wait for your food or order ahead and pick up and pay when you get to the place. Credit cards are accepted. When going for a first time to a Chinese place I order a combo so that I get to try a few things. I got the Chicken Chow mein with the pork rice and the egg roll. Excellent. The eggroll was crispy and light, not oily and the veggies so juicy. The pork rice, well, you can order it as a full meal. Complete, flavorful and generous amount of pork. The chow mein was lovely, fluffy egg omelette with chicken and the sauce... wonderful and with a bit of a kick but won't burn your mouth. It is thick enough to satisfy you. The next time I went, I got steamed chicken and veggies with the curry sauce on the side. Another bull's eye. Fantastic. Don't forget the soups. My favorite is the hot and sour soup. I found the soup from New Empire to be moderate in heat, but with a kick, has generous soy sprouts, tofu pieces, carrots and green peppers al dente, and mushrooms. So Yummy!!!! Can't wait to pick up a tub coming out of the 36th street station this winter. New Empire is a great neighborhood restaurant. Food is good and has great quality ingredients. The attendants are super friendly and explain the dishes when you are in doubt. Also patient with you while ordering. It is a must!!!!!!! Stay tuned for more reviews!!!!

I asked for sauce and the guy confidently informed me it was in the bag. It wasn’t. The food on its own was absolutely bland and flavorless. The hot and sour soup had a strange funkiness and odor. The vegetables were barely cooked through. Prices were good and it was timely at least. The spot that was in its place before was so much better.

I was a regular at prosperity noodle and sad to see the restaurant go out of business but I was excited to have a new close Chinese restaurant near my house. While the food quality is actually good. I don’t think it’s worth the price and the portions. Any other Chinese restaurant near by their large (QT) size is much bigger and New Empire’s large is MUCH smaller. I’m used to a large lo mein being able to feed everyone but I find here that we usually don’t have enough. Compare any Chinese restaurant’s prices near by and and consider the bigger portions. While I’m not saying i won’t visit again the luxury of eating Chinese take out is usually it being a bang for you buck and I cannot say that applies here.

First time ordering here and I’ll definitely be ordering again! The pan fried dumplings are top notch!! Thin, crispy and filled with the perfect amount of veggies. Service was also great. Delivery was fast and the delivery driver was very nice.
