Great food. Too loud to have a quiet conversation.

Food is absolutely not good. Like I can cook better at home. Paella was so average and had not much seafood for the cost.
Overall all food was just okay. Almost missing flavors in every dish. Definitely don’t recommend and not coming back. Cocktails were okay and servers were fine too. But food is the most important.
Also octopus was burned, rubbery and not chewable. How can a normal chef spoil octopus like that?

We love the place! Everything was so flavorful, drinks delicious and the staff were so sweet. We had a party of 5 on a Saturday night and really enjoyed our time. The food is tapas that can be shared for the table and there’s something for everyone!

A nice restaurant, I had a question about the sector and we were looking for something to have lunch, so we found the place and it was a pleasant surprise, we ordered 2 appetizers that are tapas (small) and a paella to share. The menu says it has calamari , fish, mussels and something else... ours didn't come with calamari... but our waiter explained to us after bringing it that the sauce it had was made with calamari ? mmm ok (forgive my ignorance). I feel like I ate squid ink rice with fish, but I still liked it!
I'll go back to try the others to see how they go, if I find my favorite.

The place is small and nice, they have brunch which looks good for the price, they also have a community table if you want to go with a large group. I recommend that you make a reservation if you go with several people. We didn't do it but there were only 2 of us.

Very skimpy on seafood squid ink Paella with barely any seafood. Two pieces of shrimps and a tiny bit size piece of fish and couple of clams and couple of mussels. These ingredients are not costly at all. They could do better with this dish! This is two orders of seafood paella with four small sized shrimps and one piece of squid unbelievable

Get the tasting menu! The food was delicious! We got 4 (or maybe even 5) tapas dishes and a paella and everything was so flavorful and satisfying. My favorites were the octopus and brussel sprouts and my friend could not rave enough about the croquette's. Since it's a tasting menu, you won't be able to ask for specific tapas but we did want more veggies and they were very nice about it and we got a good amount of veggie dishes. I was so full by the 5th tapas that I didn't think I could possible eat paella on top of that but when it came out, it looked so mouth watering I couldn't help myself. The paella was simply delicious, it wasn't an overwhelming size meant to fill people up. The rice was cooked in squid ink infusing it with so much flavor and they were quite generous with the seafood as well. On top of that, we each ordered a drink which were very reasonably priced and equally delicious. For what we got and the quality of everything we got, you really can't beat this value anywhere in New York. I also have to commend the great staff who were attentive but hoovering. Will definitely be back in the near future!

Le Born is an excellent restaurant that serves tapas in a Barcelona-style small plates, cocktails and wines. I loved their sleek, exposed-brick space which makes the atmosphere quite pleasant. A bit dark but all good. The food was so delicious. Each plate had its exclusive taste and presentation. The staff was very friendly and professional.

The vibe and atmosphere was super fun! Service also super nice!

Food was not as special or good as I thought it would be. Solid place to try but would not need to come again.

I have been here before, and the food always is good. I had all the paellas and my favorite was Squid Ink Paella, but the last time Meat paella was better. If you want to sit outdoor in the Courtyard make sure you add the request in the notes when you make the reservation. Service is good.

TLDR: El Born is a Spanish spot in Greenpoint with tapas, rices, etc. It is nice to have an option that's not all the way in Manhattan and something other than Boqueria. Gambas and Montadito were our favorites.

We tried this on a Friday. It's a cozy little place and very dimly lit, nice for a date night or an intimate conversation. There's the usual run of Spanish tapas but a few twists on things.

Our two favorite items were the Gambas and Montadito. The shrimp is de-shelled, the oil is chock full of garlic slices and overall the flavor was solid. The shrimp itself was cooked well and plenty of bounce to the bite. The Montadito was a crostini basically with a beef carpaccio, manchego and artichoke. Classically Spanish and what's not to like.

The Bravas potatoes were interesting. They were served on top of each other, more crispy smashed style and a dollop of aioli on top. Enjoyable but I personally prefer the smaller dice and the traditional way.

The squid ink paella wasn't bad and at $50 for a pan for 2, very fairly priced. There was a good amount of seafood in it, my only gripe is it was a bit wetter than I'd have liked. I like that socarrat fried hard on the bottom, I want to struggle to hold the pan steady as I scrape that goodness off the steel.

Nonetheless, a decent meal and a good option if you want some vino and small bites.

Their brunch prix fix was a very decent deal, $39pp for bottomless mimosa/sangrias, along with 4 tapas and a paella for two.We just got back from Barcelona, and the food here is very comparable, if not better in the case of their jamon y brussel sprouts!
