Loved the kaishin Don!

when we call the reserve seat, no one tells us dining time 1.30hrs in 1st call.My friend wants to invite more people to join dinner, but I'm not sure everyone agrees to have a minimum charge of $60 + taxes + tips. I confirm 7ppl for 2nd call. end up the people just came for 6ppl.seat & table so tiny. not comfortable to eatover 8ppl have minimum spend $60 + taxes and tipsif 6ppl, minimum tips, 20%if 2ppl, minimum tips 18%I don't know when will allow 2 hours or 1.30hrs to eat"Party area" just stay backyard for extend seat.I with other friends who don't know the group and we early arrival 3pm this area. We can not wait 630pm.That's why we separate table of 2. Of course, the restaurant doesn't care and can not arrange near the area. Do we have a choice ? It's no choice.fat lady waiter has a bad attitude. you feel eaten in the sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who gave me Ponzu sauce and what it was because I looked impatient when I saw her face. The attitude was very bad after that. oh well, It may needs to train employees who don’t know anything about working here. This is the minimum guest requirement.food is ok, basic of Japan food.too many restrictions ! Clients must follow rules/restrictions of restaurants.I will not recommend it unless people want to eat fast food restaurants !long story make short.no more next time ?

Great food. Tight environment with rushed service. Fast fast fast you should “finish and go so we can seat someone else” said every waiter vibe. High pressure not relaxing.

Cocktail is great and I recommend the ones with matcha. Seafood is fresh and well done with the combination and flavor. However their hot dishes are ok, such as the tempura rice, grilled soft crab. Wish their hot dishes are as good as other ones!

Restaurant staff is coy nd very rude. They're hospitality is not genuine as I thought. They definitely worship money, nice setting with sub par food I've had better jap cuisine. I've seen them rudely speak to nd try to force an Uber driver back in the cold while helping them make money. Staff made nasty faces to each other gossiping about driver. Seemed very racist to me.In site of this I was in disgust.

Ozakaya has a lovely intimate ambiance. It is great for a date spot or 2-4 person gathering. The service is great. Staff were always filling our water and asking if we needed anything else at an appropriate time/pacing. Was able to walk in and get a table even on a Saturday night.Classic rolls are on the higher price scale, but they do give 8 pieces. The sushi meat also tastes fresh and good qualityGot the ocean lover and the spicy tuna. I do wish the cucumber had a crisper crunch for a texture contrast. The tempura set had a light batter and a delicious variety of vegetables. The tayaki dessert was on the winter menu, but I want to advocate for it as a constant on the regular menu.Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The food is quality stuff considering the price. The service is awful because the waitress and waiter kept checking on us and the table is too small to place all the food so me and my date felt so anxious and being rushed to eat and finish our plates the entire time. Couldn’t even relax for a straight 5 mins…

Have come here a couple times for dinner. Both times, we tried different dishes that were both classic Japanese food and also some unique specials. The last time we went we sat in the back of the restaurant past the kitchen, which is quite crowded. There was a table of screaming children (standing on their chairs screaming), being really disruptive which affected our experience a bit. Food is top notch, and service is extremely friendly.

Best Japanese restaurant in BK!

To be honest when I first arrived here I didn’t have too high expectations but I gotta say this restaurant is a local gem and Im jealous of everyone who lives in the neighborhood. The food here is good, the fish they use is fresh and everything is so reasonably priced. After seeing the menu, I wanted to order everything and I have the habit of doing so. So I appreciate waiters who tell me that it is a lot of food and to maybe order first and add later. Service was good even for a very busy night and overall it was a great experience and I would say very worth it (considering how expensive NYC is).I’ve also recommended the restaurant to two other friends who came back and told me that they really enjoyed the restaurant! So do yourself a favor and go eat at Ozakaya.

A great Japanese spot with some awesome lunch deals. I ordered the spicy tuna roll + katsudon lunch special that comes with a bowl of miso, a small salad, and pickled veggies. The roll was well made with solid flavors. The lunch special, katsudon, was the star. Incredible value for $21. Lots of rice and pork, plus the extras of course. Service was fast. I had no wait on a Friday at 2pm, even though the restaurant was full (maybe 24 seats or so?) Would go back again to try their nicer fish offerings.

The prettiest uni and ikura don at Ozakaya. On their menu, they call it a Kaishin Don. It comes with many sheets of nori that you can use to make your own personal hand rolls! Yum!
