Wanted to love this place so badly! Loved the record player playing old school African music and that there was a wine store next door as the restaurant is BYOB. The vibe and service were 100/10. However, the food is good..... but in no way shape or form does it taste like West African food. I felt that for the price, the portions were small and lacked pepper- pivotal for West African cuisine. (It wasn't even available as a condiment).

PERFECT meal. Everything was so delicious, Im only sad I couldnt try it all!!!! The octopus was cooked perfectly the moi moi loved, and the iyan ati egusi BLEW ME AWAY. Also the puff puff for dessert was the totally perfect taste and texture. I can not say enough good things about this. Also its BYOB but there is a wine store next door.

Fantastic food. Some interesting takes on traditional Nigerian meals that come out very well highlighting the chefs strong background.

every dish was better than the last, the music was energetic but at a perfect decibel for enjoyable conversation, the suggested wines were great without being fussy. i can’t wait to go back & try more of these insanely delicious dishes!

simply marvelous! gifty(sp?) was so sweet and helpful. the mushroom bread was so fluffy and deliciously paired with the mushrooms. i eat pretty spicy and can say the goat pepper soup was indeeeeed spiiiiicy, but it was full of flavors. i wasn't a big fan of yam by itself, but the yam dish was great with its sauce. the guinea fowl was so tender and well cooked. the spare rib, omg, i am still drooling over the thought of it - so flavorful, perfectly cooked, crispy, tender. and most importantly, it's BYOB!!

Great food, really friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Agege bread with mushrooms and goat pepper soup for food and the zobo drink were the highlights of the meal. Excited to come back and try the rest of the menu!

We had the pleasure of hosting our small West African wedding reception here, and it was perfect! The food was delicious, the staff and service were excellent, and we couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere. Everything was 10/10. We would recommend Radio Kwara in a heartbeat for normal dine-in or larger events.

Another gem on the crown of chef Aye. Casual yet well-presented, and delicious food. A great introduction to Nigerian food.

An excellent experience from start to end. We ordered every dish on the menu for a group of 5, and the flavors were so bold and unique. Everything was great, but some personal favorites were the goat pepper soup, the toast with mushrooms, the cabbage and the beef short rib. The staff was exceptional and very attentive. Loved the simple and minimalist atmosphere too. A strong recommend without a doubt.

In my previous visit to Radio Kwara last year, I was impressed by the novelty of the menu and the elevation of the dishes in terms of technique and texture. There was also a generosity in the portions. I remember the fish pepper soup as a whole bone-in fish with a piping hot pepper soup. I remember the Joloff rice being so flavorful and balanced and I was so taken by the genius of them using black rice that I was compelled to order the pounded yam in the same meal and felt vindicated. I remember the charred octopus which was perfectly charred and seasoned with suya.

But this was last year.

This year, my visit to Radio Kwara was filled with disappointment. I tried the black-eyed-pea dumpling over cooked mackerel which was excellent and I was ready for another pleasant experience. Then they served the goat pepper soup which had three tiny pieces of meat and noodles over lukewarm soup. The Octopus was not seasoned enough and was too salted. The joloff rice was under seasoned and just seemed like salted black rice with some sad carrots on top.

Thankfully, I got that bottle of wine from next door to drown out the disappointment. But this is my biggest grievance - that I spent 75 bucks per head (including tax and tip) and I left the restaurant still hungry and had to pick up a pizza slice on the way. That is unacceptable.

Ordered the entire menu with no regrets. To be specific with the absolute bangers: the mushroom bread, the pepper soup, and the puff puffs. The bread and mushroom has so much flavor and should be your first stop to start your palette. The soup is POW flavor with a delicious spice. The puff puffs are lighter than they seem and the guava will have you digging at the bowl for every drop.

The melon seed flavour of the egusi wasn’t strong enough for my taste. The iyan was less slippery and more mashed potato-y than at some other spots. Moi moi texture was similar to tamale. Spare rib was a slightly small portion for the price.
