The food is really good here. This was my second time and the enchiladas verdes did not disappoint. I lived in Austin for many years and know my Mexican food, I am very picky. While the enchiladas here don't have the crispy edges that the dish calls for the sauce and the chicken and cheese were all on point. The guacamole is also good, not as fresh as last time but still good. my husband had a chicken dish with cheese and it had pieces of poblano peppers in it. It was really good, a bit too spicy for my old stomach but it was really good. The only thing not right about Ruta is the atmosphere. For this quality of food a crisp table cloth, and a more subdued and less cafeteria feel would go a long way. It feels too much like a bright lit daytime diner. The servers and all the staff are top notch and really nice. I just wish it felt a bit more polished and upscale inside. Even changing the lighting would go a long way.

Lovely little Oaxacan spot. I don’t usually write reviews but they were having a surprisingly slow Saturday night despite having some of the best enchiladas I’ve had in a long time, and great mole. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

The mole enchiladas were delicious. We had a big group with adults and kids - we had plenty of space in their nice backyard and the servers were very helpful and patient with our group.

I’m surprised this place wasn’t packed when I came in. The decor was so nice especially their spacious backyard section. Service was great—our waitress Abby was amazing. And the food was absolutely delicious! Honestly, the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The beef short rib was my favorite item. It’s truly high quality with many options. It’s not some cheap low quality taco spot. This is real Mexican cuisine. It’s one of my favorite restaurants now and I can’t wait to return. Mind you, I’m picky and a foodie so this means a lot. Please support this restaurant y’all!

Fun local mexican, complimentary nachos and salsa is a nice touch. Food isnt mind blowing but has a lot of variety. Great value for money and perfect hangover food for sure. The outdoor space is cute.

I was dropping my son off at NYU and was craving authentic Mexican food. What a find! we walked in and were greeted by an exceptionally friendly bartender! The food was fantastic. The conversation was engaging, I highly recommend if you are visiting or live in Brooklyn to give them a try. We came from Minnesota, next time I’m in New York visiting my son we will definitely stop by for dinner.
Been to Ruta a number of times for dinner and brunch. Meals have been delicious every time. Rate it as top Mexican in this area. For me they have the most authentic guac and homemade chips. They also have an incredible mezcal inventory for tasting flights and speciality cocktails. Great service and friendly staff. Today’s pics are from brunch Highly recommend checking them out
