This was one of the most pleasant meals I’ve had in a long time. The service was prompt, and everything we ordered was exceptional. While many Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve visited are excellent, this meal stood out, it truly sparked my palate in a way few others have.

Awesome dinner here with my wife. The star of the show was the chicken (& the potatoes that come with...maybe the best potato in the city). Dessert was killer - I had the profiteroles, wife had the custard tart. Both elite. She's also pregnant and staff was super helpful and accommodating (s/o Luke & Alexis).

Such a cute little brunch spot. We decided to share everything, which felt like the right move because we could sample each dish.

The burger was delicious, cooked perfectly medium rare with that juicy, just right center. But my personal favorite? The Turkish eggs. Absolute saucy perfection. They came with a puffy flatbread that paired amazingly with all that rich, flavorful goodness, though I do wish the bread had been bigger. The sauce was just too good, and I needed more to soak it all up.
The true star of the meal, though, was the French toast. Thick and drenched in a maple syrup with a vanilla cream dollop. I highly recommend ordering it almost as a dessert and eating it right away. We waited a bit while finishing the savory dishes, so it wasn’t piping hot by the time we dug in, still delicious, but it definitely would’ve been even better warmer.

Definitely a spot worth returning to 🍳

Upon arriving, you can't help but appreciate the interior design, warm and cosy setting and the lovely front of the house team.

We arrived an hour early and due to a full house, we went for a stroll and enjoyed the seasonal Fort Green Brooklyn buzz.

Another warm reception on our return, I ordered the most perfect gin martini and made some selections. A note for pescatarians, all of the fish entrees have either a meat stock or element that makes it highly restrictive. April Bloomfield has a reputation for her lack of flexibility in the kitchen so we were not surprised when our server politely said no.

After briefly discussing with my brother who suggested we leave, I found a few items that worked and we gave it a go.

Green Salad with Oregano Vinaigrette
Burrata with Parsnip Purée + Mushrooms
Seared Squid with Cilantro Butter + Chickpeas
Stuffed Radicchio with Red Wine Sauce

After we ordered, our server returned to the table. She had overheard our disappointment and spoke to the manager who made an exception to leave the lardo off the cod which we gratefully added to order.

I am glad we stayed. One after the other, each dish was a 10/10. The Stuffed Radicchio was a solid 8/10 and we left full, appreciated and seen. Great meal!

I would give this a 4.5. The waitress was a sweetheart and the atmosphere was beautiful—I loved all the decor. We started with the deviled eggs, sunchokes, and squid salad, and the appetizers were amazing.

For entrées, I ordered the cod and my husband had the pork shoulder. The pork shoulder was absolutely delectable with a delicious sauce; however, with only olives on the plate, there wasn’t anything to soak up and fully enjoy the sauce. A mashed potato or even a piece of toast would have really elevated the dish.

The cod was cooked perfectly—flaky, light, and fresh—but the flavor was a bit subtle and could have benefited from a sauce or crust to add more depth and punch.

Overall, a lovely experience with excellent service and thoughtfully prepared dishes.

Ambience is lovely. Beautiful bar and dining room. The dishes were hit or miss. While nothing was bad, I couldn’t say it was worth the price. The cod left me hungry. My partner ordered the chicken which was better, but at the end of the day, it’s still just chicken.

My second time here. First time I walked in and sat at the bar with a friend. Great bartender/server who was very friendly. We had the half chicken, raw hamachi, and some veggie dish (cant remember exactly). But all delicious. Decided to bring my husband in this time. Squid dish was good but a bit too acidic. The cod was just okay and the bass with mushrooms was excellent. We asked for fries but they were very salty - especially for the Belgian! The skin contact wine smelled like roses and went perfectly with the squid. Desserts didn’t look that interesting so we skipped it but last time we had the profiteroles. Staff was a bit serious this time. I guess that’s true of so many restaurants in our hood of FG these days. (We’ve been in the neighborhood for over 20 years.) Expensive and very serious! Our bill for one starter, one side, two main dishes, 2.5 glasses of wine (yes, you can get a half glass) was $146.45 including tax.

Cute spot in ft greene. Very popular but justified. Food was more elegant and sophisticated than you might expect. Had fish that was cooked perfectly which sounds standard but really more rare than you’d think. Waiter was excellent like fine dining level service even tho we were literally eating on the sidewalk. Vibe was like park slope but more bougey. Not a destination spot but if you happen to be in the area then worth a visit. Also anywhere that serves martinis with a sidecar is good in my eyes! Verdict: would return if in the area.
