I really don't know why the name of the restaurant is Ichiban. Ichiban means number one this place is not number one.....not even the sushi rice is number one.Maybe in person they can understand when you ask for a substation. I don't recommend because even for Takeout phones exist to ask if they are understanding correctly. Do yourself a favor and spend 50 dollars on a decent meal elsewhere.

Popped in on a rainy weekday. Wanted something warm and tasty and wow did this delicious udon soup hit the spot! Chock full of veggies and chunks of chicken. Also an egg and shrimp tempura. Piping hot broth and great service. This is a great place for quick, delicious reasonably priced food. Love the bamboo and flower decor. Great service again. What a find!

Solid spot to go to for a casual dinner! Everything was tasty, but nothing was amazing. The tonkotsu was pretty good and my friend said the sushi was great!

The sushi here is very good!!! The bento box is huge, honestly two people could split it. Love getting the maki box for takeout, very good value!

Waitresses appear to be angry the whole time, food really pretty bad, got the yaki udon, fried chicken, ramen, and a roll. All of it below par. Go across the street to Wanpaku, I ate there last week and they’re pretty great.

I've been to Sapporo Ichiban a few times and have consistently had a solid experience. The sushi is fresh and the rice is the right consistency, temperature, and flavor (sometimes the nigiri pieces have a bit too much rice for my preference, but it's generally fine). The servers are friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is cute and relaxed. I also appreciate the unlimited house sake that they serve if you meet the minimum per person charge, which I believe is $15. Definitely an added bonus!

I ordered out from Sapporo Ichiban because I could not go out. Food came faster than I expected. I went to eat at the place long time ago and other than that I only got deliveries. About the quality of fishes, the price should be lower than this, but I understand the cost of living in Greenpoint, so I look over it.My order was.....- Shoyu Ramen: broth with braised pork belly, egg, shredded, wood-ear mushroom, bamboo shoots and fish cakes. 6/10- Mixed Seafood Salad: Shrimp, Octopus, Squid, Kani with spring mix. 6/10- Manhattan Roll: Spicy crunchy salmon roll, tuna, salmon and avocado on top. 6/10- Tuna Jalapeno Roll: Small 8 pcs 8/10- Bonzai Tree: Crab avocado, caviar, ebi wrapped with cucumber. 7/10The score I gave are quality/price/and taste. I can say if you want to eat take out quality sushi in a budget, Sapporo will be another choice that isn't too bad.

Ordered a sushi/sashimi boat. It was average. Not great not bad. Probably won't go back given the other options in the area.

SALMONELLA DO NOT EAT HERE I don't care about any of the other reviews because they're such bullshit. On wednesday I ordered two sets of california rolls and a set of philadelphia rolls. The following day I already had a fever muscle aches and I just could not get up. The amount of pain I am still having from my fever and stomach flu because of their sushi is insane. A normal stomach flu should have passed in 24 hours. IT HAS BEEN WELL OVER 72 HOURS. I should have known that the buy one get one free offer was not a good idea but at the time why not get more for free you know. Please please please do not order their sushi. I am dying with a 103.4 fever and explosive diarrhea for three days now. I never write yelp reviews but for this I just had to.DO NOT BUY FROM HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND HEALTHY!!THEN i got a call from the health department that it was SALMONELLA. Please do not eat here. im begging you do not eat from this place. if you ever had salmonella you know how horrible it is and for those who dont. i hope you never find out. once again. do not eat hereeee

My favorite sushi in greenpoint. The fish is fresh, especially the salmon and everything is priced fair. I can’t praise them enough!
