As a New Yorker, I can honestly say this is the best Thai food I’ve had thus far. The beef is so tender it’s like brisket. Service was excellent too. Very affordable too ($16 lunch special pictured). Highly recommend!

food was too legit for me I guess, had the main salad, pork garlic grilled meat, along with the beef over rice. also the Thai iced tea was a bit too creamy and sweet for my pallate

Somtum Der is an “A” sanitary graded, tiny Thai restaurant with one of the best selections of food and menu. Everything looks so delicious, that it is hard to decide from where to begin ordering. I’ve tried Creamy Tom Yum Goong with shrimp and mushrooms, and beef Moo or Nue Ping Kati Sod. Both dishes were perfectly done, very flavorful, and tasty. The service was excellent, and the food came in a reasonable time. Dinehall and restroom were clean and well maintained. However, the only concern I have is that they allowed a large-size, barking companion dog in the indoor dining area, which is not only uncomfortable but also prohibited by the law!Overall, it's a place definitely worth visiting.

Quaint restaurant with outdoor seating and authentic Thai cuisine. The staff are very friendly and the establishment plays great music during service. My favorite things on the menu: pad Thai (beef, shrimp, and chicken), spring rolls (with dip), and Thai iced tea!

Authentic flavors, spice level, and vibe. I had the lunch special A (papaya salad + fried chicken + sticky rice) and it was so good and filling. Very tasty and amazing, strong flavors. Friendly staff too!

9.4/10! So good. Most similar to some of the food I had in Thailand with super powerful flavors and authentic ingredients/spice level. The soup and fried chicken were amazing but I forgot to take a pic after having the papaya salad.

I love the drunk man noodles, the papaya salad and the Thai chicken thigh was amazingly fried. $16 for a lunch special deal.

I had commumicated with, and made a reservation with this place about a month prior to Xmas, for our first time to try the neighborhood restaurant for our Christmas Eve dinner date. We were all dressed up and ready to get going, when they texted me 30 minutes before the reservation to say they were going to close early! Such disappointing last minute news on Xmas Eve night left us scrambling to find another place to have Xmas Eve dinner, that was still taking guests at that time. Now I will be sure not to ever go there, yet alone trust them to keep an appointment! Very rude, unprofessional, and certainly not Merry!

If I could give it zero stars I would. I realized I never left a review for this place (the Red Hook location), but as the year is winding down, it reminded me of how I spent New Year's Eve last year, dealing with hours of food poisoning (I will spare you the details). Earlier in December I enjoyed my dine-in experience so much so that I decided to order a few dishes for delivery on New Year's eve. Everything tasted fine but clearly something was contaminated or off because a couple of hours later, I started having stomach pains, resulting in several bathroom trips over the course of the next few hours. Probably my most memorable New Year's Eve. To this day, I still don't have a hankering for Thai food like I used to.

Great little spot - came in for Friday lunch. Not crowded. Inside and outside seating. Nice atmosphere! We had the Pad Thai with pork and a caramelized pork dish (both picture) that I can't remember the name of. I can say that he recommended it, and it was one of the lunch selections. Both delicious! Spicy means spicy. Lots of interesting looking options that you might have tried in your Thai eatings. Enjoy!

A group of us ate at this restaurant before attending a concert. We were really looking forward to our dinner. However the experience was marred by the unpleasant, rushed and rude behavior of the woman who served us. We will definitely not be returning or recommending this restaurant. No food is worth tolerating such condescending attitude. Their success has gone to their head.
