Perfect little neighborhood gem. The food is excellent and the owner is so sweet. This is a business you immediately want to support and become a regular.
I was taking a short video to show my husband so we could plan to come back after his appointment. The owner informed me that photos and videos weren’t allowed, so I immediately apologized and stopped recording. She repeated herself, so I explained that I genuinely didn’t know—and apologized again.
Rather than letting it go, she continued to press the issue insisting there was a “very large sign” posted. As I left, she pointed at the door and asked, “Do you see it now?” in a tone that felt unnecessarily hostile.
Needless to say, we won’t be returning. Unfortunate since it’s such a cute space with so much potential.
Side note .. I rarely leave bad reviews, especially not for small businesses.
A charming neighborhood spot with delicious, fresh rice balls and great drinks. It's fun browsing the snacks, old books, and knick knacks while I wait for my order. Still one of my favorite places to stop by on a nice walk.
Really cute but the attitude is surprisingly rude and the food is just alright. The first time I thought the shop owner was having a bad day, but I've been there 3 times and it's the same every time
Great onigiri owner was very nice had a good chat about the Kyoto area!

Love this place! Tons of really cool Japanese snacks and amazing homemade rice balls which my daughter absolutely loves and devours! The owner is super charming and welcoming. She's really become a big part of our neighborhood.

I would’ve given a 1 overall but the food made up for the extra star. I wanted to take a photo and was scolded by the owner saying not to take photos and they don’t do social media. I felt that I needed to delete the photo because she was very stern. I wanted to sit inside and enjoy my food (no frills authentic Japanese onigiri, very tasty) but there wasn’t any seating and overall atmosphere felt weird after I ordered. I ended but eating my food outside of the shop. Disappointed. Good food but service needs work.

I really hate writing this review, but I had been wanting to stop by this place for awhile and finally had the opportunity to go today. My mistake before I went in was that I should have seen the signs about not taking pictures but I didn’t. I was taking a picture to send to my friend and was scolded by the owner to which I profusely apologized immediately. However what really bothers me is that she kept making remarks especially in front of other customers, and I didn’t know what to do except keep apologizing? It got to the point that I was on the verge of tears and asked her to stop already. I did get a salmon onigiri and it was okay (I think salmon was a little too salty)! I wish I got to try other options and that this didn’t happen but don’t think I’ll be returning. Just keep in mind you can’t take pictures (don’t even whip out your phone)!

Not sure how I got so lucky to have 3rd floor on my block, but it’s such a gem. The onigiri are a perfect snack- the karaage one is my favorite - and it’s the best spot to get a “fun” drink. I love looking at all of the Knick knacks they have too!

Great little cafe with very nice people behindThe counter. The onigiri (rice triangle) is the best value quick bite in the neighborhood, and the yuzu lemonade is refreshing and unique
