I am writing to share how much I appreciate your establishment. I visit Monday through Friday and believe you have the best cornmeal porridge in NYC; it is a favorite of mine, and it is also one of the few things my autistic son will eat.

I have been there a few times, but on my last visit there I tried something different. The vegetables was delicious and flavorful as well as the fish. Will definitely have the fish and vegetables with fried Plantains again.

While the food is delicious, the service could use improvement. They don’t open on time for breakfast, and one of the female servers consistently appears irritated — no smile or friendliness. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when the person serving the food seems to have an attitude.

I had a very unpleasant experience here. After placing my order and waiting in line to use the bathroom, a very short man who appeared to work there suddenly came out and started yelling aggressively at me and another woman, telling us to leave. We explained that we were paying customers just waiting for the restroom, but he continued to be rude and disrespectful.
My sister was still inside the bathroom when this happened, and the man kept getting in our faces, speaking in an extremely unprofessional and hostile way. The way he treated the women in the restaurant made me feel very unsafe and uncomfortable.
I would not recommend supporting this establishment. No one should be treated like that, especially paying customers.

Had the oxtail on peas and rice with plantains. Delicious. There is abit of a wait at lunch time and there is no obvious menu that would make it easier to order. But isn’t that just the sort of imperfect charm what makes for a five star hole in the wall Caribbean joint?
