Best deal for food we’ve had so far in NYC. We love dumplings and this was so good. Order a No. 1 and Make It Spicy

Good value for money restaurant with delicious dumplings, noodles and buns. The portions are ample. There is limited seating and can get loud. Fast service.

This is a no nonsense dumpling house with delicious simple food that is good for the soul. Pricing is reasonable but the staff took Vanessa’s over the top. Recommend this place (specially on those cold days where you need something to put you right). Special mention should be made of their cucumber salad which offered the perfect accompaniment to those tasty dumplings.

Every time I am in Brooklyn, I stop at Vanessa's to get dumplings. They are always fantastic, and for NYC, cheap. They have a lot of different dumpling types, including but not limited to: pork, chicken, vegetable, assorted, and more.

I love the vibe of the original Vanessa’s in Chinatown — it still has that wild, frenetic energy of a true hole-in-the-wall dumpling shop, and they’ve never bothered to smooth out the rough edges. I really admire that. I like dumplings, I like noodles, and when I’m in Williamsburg I’ll pop into this Vanessa’s because there just aren’t many quick, cheap options around anymore.

But the vibe here is totally different. The decor, the energy, the staff — none of it has that chaotic charm the Chinatown spot has. It’s all… fine, nothing bad, just not memorable. And somehow the rough-around-the-edges thing that feels endearing in Manhattan doesn’t translate the same way in Williamsburg.

I recently started working near this great place to grab a bite to eat. The spicy beef soup was loaded with meat, making it a great bang for your buck. It’s the perfect meal for a winter day.

Vanessa's Dumpling House treated me to flavors that exceeded my expectations. I was surprised by how neat and trendy everything looked. The workers demonstrated authentic warmth. Their food tastes better with fresh components. I'm completely taken with this spot.

I've been to Vanessa's many times before, but last Saturday they really cemented my love for them. I came in right before the kitchen closed, but the man behind the counter still took my order, and was so friendly about it. Most other places would roll their eyes or take my order with a grimace. Not this guy. Thank you, sir, for making my night!

Oh wow, the price went way, way up.
This used to be the low-cost place to go.
Am I crazy or did the prices double ?

Service is good.
Food is top-notch
They offer alcohol, which is cool.

This used to be the cheap place to go in the neighborhood, and now it’s just a good place to go.

It’s good. I recommend it. It’s not cheap.
