I passed by this place at 2PM today on February 27th 2024 and it seems that they have went out of business and the place has "For Rent" sign hanging under the awning/visor.

I ordered dumplings with potatoes, price $10. The fork was greasy, I didn’t even bother using it. Thank you, there is a toilet, but it is so dirty that you can’t help but wonder what’s going on in their kitchen? They only take cash.
Varenichnaya is a great place to get great tasting Russian foods. It is located near Brighton Beach. This restaurant is small thought but the food is good.I had the chicken Piroshki for breakfast. I was warmly greeted by a friendly and helpful attendant at the restaurant. I appreciate the delicious food and great customer service.

Family-owned lowkey place, the service is not the friendliest. But the food is just amazing! Borsch tastes like it's made by a babushka, pelmeni are also very authentic. Vareniki were tasty as well. Have lemonade produced in Russia and tandyr nan. Very
So good for authentic vareniki! The mushrooms and potato ones are amazing.

To start off, the menues are old and disgusting. Only the male bathroom works (I thought I’d get stuck in there with how sticky the floors were)The soup “Lagman” was probably 3 days old and bitter, Pelmeni and vareniki were too over cooked. The best thing there was the herring which came out of a package. The kompot had some type of aritificial flavoring to it.We were searching for some good European food and found a disappointing experience. Never again.
Seems like a fake restaurant probably money laundering. Not even sure they cook the food themselves or get it from nearby stores. Food was very disappointing and not tasty and much more expensive than expected and they don't accept credit cards or have updated menu on Google.

Look for the address number, not the name, and you'll find it easily My friends and I decided to have a Coney Island day, but any time I'm in this part of Brooklyn, I get a craving for pierogies. This restaurant is an absolute gem. It's an easy walk from Coney Island and well worth it for a great, affordable Russian meal. Between the five of us we got a plethora of vareniki (pierogis), pelmeni (dumplings), and samsas. The surprise hit of the meal was the pumpkin samsa. Seriously, it was delicious, you gotta try it. I also ordered the pear lemonade which threw me off a little. It wasn't bad, but it was sparking bottled Georgian lemonade. More sweet than tart and I was craving something tart. I wound up getting an actual lemonade later on from a nearby bodega. Overall, great meal. Just a quick note, they unfortunately don't serve alcohol, so forget about any vodka pairings. Service was quick, the restaurant wasn't that crowded and the kitchen moved fast.

This is where it's at. One of my go-to spots in the summer. The salad and fruit juice are perfect and refreshing. They use good tomatoes- that is important. We also recommend the beef stroganoff or meat dumplings. Byob
