Went for dinner. Space was cozy or cramped depending on your mood (started off cozy then it got cramped once we started eating with both hands). Good wine selection. Food was well executed, but even in nyc one would expect more oomph than what was delivered at $40 for chicken and $24 for a plate of 2-3 beets.
Have been a few times. Food is fairly underwhelming. My Egg & Tomato dish said it came with a “parsley salad” — which consisted of one sprig of parsley. Why even mention it?
Waiters are understaffed and/or slow.
I keep going back, because the environment is cool - but always uninteresting food & mediocre service.

Had an amazing evening here. We loved their cozy and historic dinning room. Would highly recommend if you are looking for great cocktails, a beautifully curated wine list, and exceptional food. Our server Beck was warm and very informative. Thank you again Vinegar Hill House team!
