The food was amazing, we have never Taiwanese food and all of the food was amazing. The short rib noodle dish was amazing, my wife said she could eat it everyday.

We loved our meal at Wenwen! Food was delicious and our waitress could not have been nicer. After I mentioned that it was my brother's birthday hoping they could put a small candle on the dessert, she presented a beautiful dessert with a candle and comped it! I was not expecting that and really appreciated it. Highly recommend and look forward to returning soon!

Fried tofu and 3 cup treasure (shrimp, clams, squid) were good but not exceptional. Hot honey popcorn chicken was tasty but pieces were large chunks (not popcorn size) and very sweet with no heat at all. The beef noodle soup however was the clear winner, flavorful broth with tender beef. However, while not egregious, noted some disappointing business practices. The drink had one big and long ice cube (length of glass) that when removed, the glass was barely half full so essentially paying for ice. The waitress also took the liberty of "entering" 20% tip to the credit card charge. When questioned, said it was a suggestion. Not opposed to a 20% tip but if not mandatory, shouldn't I decide? In addition, noted the 20% tip was based on total cost and tax. Of the belief you don't pay tip on tax. While not deal breakers, kind of felt like being nickeled and dimed. Overall, food was good and ambiance warm and pleasant, but would I come back? Not seeing it especially in a city with so many amazing food options.

Overall wenwen is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant to eat at for a date night. The ambience sets the mood for socializing and the Flower girl cocktail tasted good! The food however is okay. While I enjoyed the beef noodle soup and the bouncy texture of the noodles, I would have loved more toppings in the soup or potentially even a side of complimentary chili oil. The beef shank was extremely tender though which was good! I'm not sure if the food is purposely given warm, but I believe the temperature of the broth to me could've came out hotter so I could appreciate taking small sips of it. I was unfamiliar with the dish lol ba Beng before trying it. While it was good and savory, I wish the flavor profile of it could have more spice and or maybe an acidic note. More pickled mustard green would help to brighten the flavor possibly. Serving size wise, I was hoping for more as it truly is a rice bowl with mince pork belly. I also thought the rice to meat ratio was a bit off as there was a lot of rice compared to the mince pork. I also wish this dish came out hotter to the table. I love Eric Sze and his content he does on social media platforms. I did think Wenwen was a tasty restaurant to try, but I don't think it's sold me to be a frequent diner here!

Dined on NYE where they had a special menu. It was a good value for essentially a three course meal. Loved the chrysanthemum salad and XO pasta the most. The dessert was creative but didn't seem to work well together.

The food is terrific and super delicious! Only thing is that it is expensive than we supposed to spend .

The shared chicken dish and the shared spicy beef noodles were fantastic. Service was very helpful in picking dishes and made custom adjustment to a drink

The popcorn and celtuce salad are to die for! I prefer the man dining room over the alley seating

There’s some magic ingredient in their fried rice that I can’t explain. It’s one of the best I’ve had. And of course their fried chicken is too.

So oily :( cute interior and we went for dinner and just smaller plates and such oily food. Their decafe tea was really good though!

The food was absolutely delicious. As someone born and raised in Taiwan, I have very high standards for the flavors of my hometown. I originally didn’t have much expectation for a modern Taiwanese restaurant, but the very first dish—the stir-fried pea shoots—was impressive. The lettuce shrimp wraps were also outstanding. The intense wok hei from the high-heat stir-fry was unforgettable. Although it’s a fusion Taiwanese restaurant, Wenwen showcases the essence of Taiwanese cuisine in its own way for non-local guests. It truly deserves a lot of praise.

Triple treasure noodle soup was great. Shank texture was fantastic (very uniform - maybe sous vide), tendon was inconsistent but there were some good pieces, honeycomb tripe was better at Raku. Wish their regular noodles were a bit thicker (like Gulp), but the bite was good.

WOW! Literally Wow. I don’t even know where to start… pretty small area in a pretty boring area of Greenpoint, but A Taiwanese gem! WenWen was recommended by a friend, so I knew I had to try. Upon entering you are greeted by staff and checked-in. We had reservations, so we were seated as soon as our table was ready. We ordered a bunch of things off the menu. We started with the Popcorn chicken and pea shoots. Then the chili oil wonton, and lo ba beng. Then topped it off with the beef fat chili oil noodles. Everything was bomb! I have absolutely no complaints! My favorite dishes had to be… omgosh I can’t decide everything was perfection: I highly recommend you add Wenwen to your list, you won’t be disappointed!
