EDIT: the Win Son Bakery team responded pretty quickly when I tagged them on socials about the issue I initially posted below. They were actually very kind and rather quick about it (responded same day). They moved just as fast during the refund process (issued it within the same hour I filed my info on a claim). Of course ideally the mix up wouldn’t happen in the first place but their customer service was pretty great after the fact.

I’ve gone to this place a few times and the food is always good and service is usually great but today I had a small off experience. I had gotten up to grab a to go box for the rest of my food. I had maybe been gone literally like 40 seconds and when I came back someone had thrown all the food out. I suppose I could have asked the girls next to me to watch it just in case but I felt like there was a decent amount of food left and one item I wasn’t even really touched (I took one bite of it) and it was thrown out. I think what bothered me the most though was the server who threw it out realized when I was standing there with a new to go box kind of confused and bummed and there wasn’t really an acknowledgement that it was a mistake. He just kind of said “oh I’ll take that,” grabbed my box, and threw that out too…. weird encounter and wasn’t really pleasant. I’m bummed because I paid full price for a food item I didn’t get to really eat and wanted to save for later and it ended up in the garbage.
One of the best meals I had when I visited NY/Brooklyn. You must get the BEC scallion pancake
Was really surprised with breakfast sandwiches really good. I pretty much have a bacon egg and cheese bagel everyday so it was nice to switch up a bit. Will be back
I had the Jiucai scallion pancake with bacon added – great balance of flavors, and it’s actually a good-sized pancake. I also tried the pork fan tuan, which I think was my favorite; it had a nice crunch when you bite into it.
The best decision I made was trying their Taipei iced tea with Kinmen Kaoliang, lime, Aperol, soy sauce, and Taiwan beer. Hear me out – I know it’s a lot of mixtures, but it was so refreshing and balanced itself out perfectly. I just wish there was more of the mixture on the side to keep enjoying with the beer.
I would rate this an 8.3.
Really really good pancakes, pastries and 5 spice late.
Came here to work during a weekday and ordered some lattes. The black sesame latte was pretty good, and the five spice latte was decent too. Of the two my favorite was the black sesame latte.
However, for $8 I don’t think the black sesame latte was particularly good value. If I ever come back I’d be curious to try their pastries that they are more known for, but think I’d skip the coffee.
milk bun BEC?!? unreal. everything i've had from here has been incredible.
They have a “no laptop policy” Friday-Sunday so be warned before you give them your money. No grace to even allow me to work on my laptop during the work day (Friday) while I wait for and eat the food I purchased. Out here bothering no one as there are ample open tables.
There is a “sign” that says this on a small plaque once you’ve already sat down and go to look for their wifi! Clever!
Bec&Mortadella were gr8! A Must if in Williamsburg!
Win Son Bakery was honestly a bit of a letdown. It felt overhyped from the start. I waited at least 45 minutes just to order, then another 30 to get a table. The vibe is cool, but the food didn’t live up to the wait.
I had the fried chicken sandwich on the milk bun and it was lackluster at best. The chicken wasn’t anything special, the house sauce didn’t add much, and the whole thing was really messy to eat. The fries were decently seasoned but not crispy at all, kind of soggy, which was disappointing.
I also tried the bacon, egg, and cheese scallion pancake and it was just okay. Nothing memorable.
The one thing I genuinely enjoyed was their seasonal strawberry nian gao (rice cake; not pictured). It had great texture and flavor — wish the rest of the meal had lived up to that.
Overall, not worth the hype or the long wait in my opinion.

Loved the red dates latte
Arrived today not realizing the kitchen was closing soon - a “hard stop” at 3pm. I got to the register at 2:57. I waited for one minute before someone came back to the register. Placed my order and was handing my card over to the cashier, when the cashier next to him pointed out that it had turned 3pm so he couldn’t put my order through. I get a hard stop, I get this place is always busy and needs boundaries, but I had placed my order already and had my card out to pay. This was absolutely ridiculous. I was a frequent customer, but I don’t think I’ll be back.
a PHENOMENAL dining experience from a small shop that delivers an A1 gourmet PUNCH🥊 (well worth the visit)
Solid, need to try more items
The bacon egg and cheese tasted good and had a generous amount of bacon but was disappointing since the scallion flavor doesn’t come through.
The pork fan tuna is seriously one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Amazing texture and the pork is a little sweet. The black sesame latte was also excellent.
