I thought the area was great, the food was tasty and the cocktails were delightful. Service was friendly and prompt.

Server was friendly, and it was easy to do a walk-in, but we were waiting a while for our food and when it did arrive it was super underwhelming. Ceviche was not great, mostly tomatoes in a juice that tasted like it came out of a can. El pastor tacos were dry and bland, shrimp tacos were just ok. It’s a good location but i feel they should put more effort into flavor and quality ingredients.

What a delight to finally find a place that is nice, friendly, clean and most importantly the food was delicious. We had to the shrimp tacos and mezcal margaritas and both were delicious. I hope this place stays open forever.

I was quite impressed by the rice/beans and the shrimp tacos. I'm a Mexican food snob. I approve.

We had a great experience at Xolo! We started off with the guacamole and chips and the ahi tuna tostadas, so fresh! All of our entrees were filled with flavor and some of the BIGGEST burritos I ever seen! Margaritas are amazing too! Deff try this place out!

First time here. Amazing ambient vibes. Food was amazing my favorite was the guacamole with pomegranate and tacos. Can't go wrong with any of them but the pork was amazing. Super flavorful & tender. For drink I got the mezcal which comes with an amazing flavorful salty, citrusy, and sweet spice blend to do an orange in. This spice mix I put on the food as well and was amazing. Overall 10/10 would recommend for date night because of the great ambiance and vibes.

Love this place! Delicious fish tacos and grilled shrimp tacos. Lovely vibe with cool music that is quiet enough for good conversation. Definitely coming back here.

My friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night after making reservations for restaurant week. Unfortunately, it was bland food and weak cocktails. I was not a fan of their ambience either. The yellow lighting is not very pleasant.

The food was just OK — lacked in flavor and texture as some of the other reviews noted. We ordered the fried goat cheese with honey, vegetarian and chicken enchiladas, and churros. The goat cheese didn’t have the best flavor mixture with the honey, the enchiladas were very bland, and the churros were super hard. The caramel and chocolate sauce that the churros came with were not too sweet but not too tasty either.

I ordered their Oaxaca old-fashioned, which is tequila-based instead of bourbon. I did have high hopes but alas, while it tasted nice and smoky, it was extremely weak in alcohol content.

My least favorite part about this experience is that the food came out rather quickly in between courses so we were done eating in 30 minutes. My friend ended up getting indigestion because we ate so quickly.

All in all, this place is a charming neighborhood Mexican spot in Dumbo, but I personally would not come back.

We cross-referenced several lists to find a fun local place with good cocktails and tasty food. Xolo hit the spot! We ended up doing the Restaurant Week menu because it featured several of the dishes we'd already eyed on the menu. Everything was delicious, and the staff was so friendly. It's maybe a bit out of the way from the center of things (since it's right by the bridge), but it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for upscale Mexican. Spicy pineapple margarita a hearty recommend!
