Ethiopian cuisine is a hidden gem, and my experience at Abyssinia Ethiopia Cuisine was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped in, I was enveloped in the rich aromas of spices and the warm hospitality of the staff. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the traditional Ethiopian injera, a spongy flatbread that serves as both plate and utensil. It was the perfect vessel for sampling an array of flavorful dishes. The variety of vegetarian and meat options pleased everyone at our table, from the hearty lentil stews to the succulent lamb tibs. The flavors were complex and vibrant, with each dish offering a unique blend of spices and textures. The berbere spice blend, a staple in Ethiopian cooking, added a delightful kick to many of the dishes without overwhelming the palate.

This was authentic, delicious Ethiopian cuisine! The whole location is a sort of coop for various businesses to live. The staff were friendly and the food came quickly. Everything was made fresh and you can watch them cook! I can't recommend this place enough.

I had a vegetable platter with various chopped veggies on top of a circle of bread. I broke off a piece of bread and scooped up the veggies. Everything was very tasty and I would go there again.

Loved it! We ordered the veggie combo, chicken tibs, and beef alecha wot -- all spot on. We will for sure return when we visit again. If we lived nearby, this place would be our date night of choice.

It says closed at 8, I rushed here from very far to make it at 7 pm just for them to be closed … meanwhile the other restaurants were open. I am very saddened to have wasted mytime and not able to try it.

So darn good. I go here often for lunch on workdays -- so helpful that they're open through the afternoon because I often take a late lunch! Big portions, wonderfully flavored, tons of vegan options. Never tried Ethiopian food? Here's your sign. Go there!

My fiancé and I love trying new things so when we heard about the Downtown Bizarre we had to check it out. We tried Abyssinia's combo plate with chicken and it was delicious! The owner was working the counter and told us all about the food and his culture which was very nice! This is a casual atmosphere with multiple international options to try! We definitely will be back to try something new again

Have tried this place a couple times for lunch and found the vegetable and meat samplers good. Be sure to get an order of injera bread since it isn't included as part of the meal and is ala cart.

You go for the food and the kind people, not the "atmosphere" - it's clean and pleasant, don't get me wrong. If you are going to Shea's or 710, etc., or are looking for lunch while downtown, it's a good bite that won't break the bank!Wheelchair accessibility: Wide ramps inside, not steps
