I am shocked. I have been going to Calypso since I was about 15 and I’m 30 now. It used to be the best Jamaican food ever they used to have such good flavor, but now the oxtail is so fatty that I can’t even bite through it and the gravy is a slimy dog food like texture. It’s so disgusting. The slaw isn’t the same. the smell isn’t even the same. The flavor is really horrific and I am just so saddened that all of the Jamaican restaurants I grew up with in Buffalo have gone downhill. Before I even open the bag, I was like why does it smell different? It literally smells like dog food and when I tried it it the slimy nasty gravy. It’s just disgusting. I’m so sad that this is what calypso has come to.

Absolutely the worst thing I’ve ever ordered. The food as absolutely disgusting and I’m pretty sure the food was rotten. The chicken was so soft it basically became paste. The rice I’m pretty sure was rotten. I ordered the brown stew chicken and curry chicken and a beef patty. If me or my family get sick from this you will be hearing from a lawyer!! The rice literally smells rotten and stinks!! STAY AWAY TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH!! It’s in the trash where it belongs!!!

I ordered the Curry Chicken with rice and fresh coleslaw for $5. I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food was. This place has been here for a long time, Surprised I haven't stopped in sooner. I stopped in because I saw the sign offering curry chicken for $5. Also, the Jerk Chicken is perfect! The food was a bit different than I expected, as I'm used to Indian curry chicken. This is the Jamaican version of that, minus any spice. Also, the chicken is with the bone in. That caught me by surprise, but not a deal breaker for yummy food. It's very saucy without being messy. I will definitely stop back and order this again. If you're driving her, there's street parking only.

Without a doubt the best jerk chicken I've ever had. It's so good I can't eat any other jerk chicken now. Nothing compares. Very friendly people too.
As a Jamaican from NYC, this place is amazing! It's been so hard finding something near authentic. The owner makes all the food herself and it's to die for! As long as I am in Buffalo, she will be the only Caribbean food I eat!
