Very good breakfast sandwich. Never had much luck with any of their other breakfast foods though.

TLDR: I wish I could comment on the food, but we never received it. They canceled our online order without telling us!

My partner and I traveled to Buffalo this weekend for a wedding. Traveling can be challenging because she has celiac disease. We found Owl Eyes Cafe and were so excited about the gluten free options. We placed the order online for pickup with an approximate time 45 minutes from when we placed it. As an aside, I called the restaurant 3 times before placing to make sure there were no nuts in the food. They never answered.

When I arrive to the restaurant, the staff told me they canceled our food order. They ran out of gluten free rolls, so they didn't make it. Which seems reasonable. They didn't make my breakfast sandwich because "the kitchen was confused and didn't want to make the wrong thing."

The obvious problem is 0% communication. They canceled the food order online without ever notifying us. The website says we would receive text updates, but I never did. It seems like basic decency to call. I took an Uber to get there and an Uber back. I wish we would've known.

We had biked around a little before settling at Owl Eyes because it was the cosiest spot on the block. We were so hungry we ordered a sandwich each and then couldn't resist getting a third one to share. We both agreed their breakfast sandwich was the best, although the turkey blt and grilled cheese were also delicious. The bread was nice and toasted each time and all three sandwiches were delightfully different. Last but not least their butterbeer latte was tasty and really warmed us up.

Update #2: they salads have been extremely inconsistent and now missing a ton of incidents. Uploaded another pic of the same salad I ordered and as you see missing a lot. The only thing I asked for each time is no avocado.

Update: I tried their Southwest salad and it was one of the best I ever had!

I was not sure what to expect of this place but was pleasantly surprised. I have just started working in the area and have tried a few places but decided to try something different and not as well known. To be honest, the menu did not excite me as much as other places, not to their fault I just am not on a healthy kick and the food here is quite healthy and different than the normal lunch spot. I got the Tuscan chicken sandwich and Greek tortellini pasta salad. The salad was made when I ordered it since they didn’t have any premade. I was worried the flavors wouldn’t come through due to not “marinating” but wow it was good! The sand which had all FRESH ingredients. The tomatoes were so fresh and firm, the mozzarella was the soft fresh version and everything else was just delicious. The only complaint I have is there was way too much of the tomato pesto and it quickly made the Sammy soggy. There was so much food for $12 I couldn’t even finish it all. The staff was very friendly and it was a super cute little cafe for a relaxing lunch.
Ps free ice water in the back, I wish I knew that before I got a bottle water.

Super cool breakfast spot. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Sandwiches are hearty. Revolving specials and plenty of coffee syrup options. Wish there was a discounted coffee refill option.

I believe Grindhouse used to be in this spot?

Lot of veg options, everything seems from scratch that we got, and good prices.

Extremely salty. Low quality products like processed cheese and cheap bread. Overpriced for such small quantities. Coffee was weak and not fresh. Free Gaza pro Palestine poster in the dining area. Surprised that this is an LGBTQ+ friendly place but supports a foreign policy where LGBTQ+ people are terrorized. Not returning.

This was a great little find. So many vegetarian and vegan friendly options and the food tasted delicious. Will absolutely be getting breakfast here again whenever we're in the area.

Vegetarian options: They had a large selection of vegetarian options which made it really nice to order from. Lots of good flavors for those of us who have become accustomed to being an afterthought
