Called 3x last night no answer, went in to order & asked the host why no answer she said something wrong with the phone so I placed my order got my food within 10 minutes while im waiting phone rang 2x I heard it was sitting right there & she did not answer....it was not busy...I order adlelast 2x a month....fyi...

We both ordered ramen (Taisho and Spicy Miso). The Taisho broth was pretty bland and the Spicy Miso broth had an overwhelming sesame flavor. The eggs were rubbery. Perhaps the sushi is better but I wouldn't recommend the ramen. The edamame was also undercooked.
Atmosphere has potential but why is Family Feud and Big Bang Theory playing on the jumbo screen? Really distracting. I would just play some Tokyo street walking videos or something when the Bills aren't on. Buffalo mural is cool but doesn't really fit the vibe. Music was also too loud for most of the time.

Good food, well made, would recommend for for a small party or for dates. I would advise that you get drinks beforehand, however, as drink sizes are small, almost tiny, for both specialty drinks and sodas, and only sodas are free refill.

The service can be slow at times, but the staff are friendly. The food is a hit or miss depending on what you order. I really like their rolls but I wouldn’t get their ramen again. I would come back for their rolls!
My brother’s wife passed away unexpectedly, and Taisho was her favorite restaurant. We needed a place for people to gather after the memorial and my brother, her widower, felt strongly about it being Taisho. If you’ve ever had the awful task of planning a surprise memorial, you’ll know it’s a miserable, sad, and chaotic mess. Taisho went out of their way to make it easier on us. They dealt with surprises and changes. They met our needs even when it was especially difficult for them. That attention to us alone was so remarkable I’d shovel more stars than any review could hold. But, it’s worth noting that the food, drinks and atmosphere were exactly what we needed as well. We’re so thankful.
Great food makes a great restaurant; no doubt Taisho has that. But part of being an exceptional restaurant is also being a great neighbor. Taisho is a great neighbor. I hope you never need them the way we did, but I do hope you go. Thanks Taisho team.

This is probably the most authentic Japanese restaurant I’ve found in Buffalo. Try their sushi boat, wasabi octopus, and pork cutlet rice — they taste just like what I had in Japan! It’s a great spot for company gatherings too. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared them, which made it fun to try everything. Big thanks to Tiffany for taking such good care of us — you can really feel how much she values every customer.
