Been eating here for almost a decade, this is one of those special restaurants where the passion for the food is evident. Made from scratch, creative dishes... the burgers, jambalaya, and candied yams, are regular dishes of ours. The chicken and dumplings were also great, made with smoked chicken. The ooey gooey pie is unlike any pie I've had before. Will always come back to this restaurant. just wish they would bring back the thyme frozen yogurt!!

A free corn bread with the meal would help. $40 bowl of Gumbo is too much.

My wife and I just celebrated her birthday here and had a great time. The thing that we both agreed on is " the greens needed some smoked meat, preferably turkey and had too much vinegar. They needed to be cut with sugar,but they were very tender, cooked to perfection. I would recommend Toutant to others.

Dietary restrictions: Although we don’t have any restrictions, the host and server BOTH asked about dietary restrictions. They seem very seem very aware and ready to accommodate.
Parking: We parked in the lot across the street but it was $3, which isn’t bad. The street parking was very full.
Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a lower level with the bar, but the restaurant is up stairs. The bathroom for the restaurant area is on the 3rd floor. I’m not sure about an elevator.

We absolutely loved our dinner and experience at Toutant! What a gem to stumble upon! The building is beautiful and the staff throughout are so friendly, professional, and provided impeccable service paying attention to every little detail. We ordered the hush puppies, which I was a little hesitant on as the daily offering included pork but once I took a bite I was in heaven. They were delicious! Continued on with the cornbread, Nashville chicken sandwich, chicken and sausage jambalaya, collard greens and smashed potatoes. Everything was so good; we were happy to be leaving with leftovers so we can enjoy the food the next day. Our server, Nick, was the best. We loved the music playing and the decor that really added to the overall warm and delightful experience of Toutant. We can't wait to go back. Great job to everyone there! Ya'll (as everyone says there) were wonderful! Thank you!

Totally impressed by this place. Everyone and I mean everyone was welcoming, Professional and attentive coming from a black woman that’s rare. The food was unbelievably delicious and cooked to perfection. Best shrimp and grits in town hands down. I can’t wait to try the entire menu. The prices are a bit pricey however, it’s worth it and more. They make their own bread and hot sauce in house and I was blown away by the taste. Great job! Shout out to Tyler top tier service.

I got the Fried shrimp Poboy and ot was pretty good. My date got the MaMaw Gumbo and only said it was decent. The service was good and the only knock I had is that ot was VERY cold in the building. I couldn't really enjoy my time all the way
