Went here for dinner with my family while staying at Villa Roma. Everything we ate was so delicious. And we really loved the feel of the space and deck outside. We had the unbelievably ginormous Bavarian pretzel, French onion soup, and tomato burrata salad to share. We couldn’t get enough of it. A majority of us had the braised short rib for dinner. More would have had the pulled pork sandwich but they unfortunately ran out already which must have meant it was the best so we will definitely have to go back to try it. Needed to add a small amount of salt to the short rib but it was perfection once added. I’d definitely recommend dinner here anytime.

What a great place! Delicious food and atmosphere (we sat outside), but even more notable was the “vibe”. From the minute we walked in the door, we felt the hospitality and warmth of our “server” Karen. I put “server” in quotation marks because Karen is more than just an employee, she happens to be one of the owners. Her Irish charm and humor radiated not only with our group of 4, but with every customer she interacted with.
Now on to the food. The Chilled Tomato and Dill soup was to die for! Fabulous. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with fries and coleslaw. The chicken was crispy on the outside, and moist and juicy on the inside. My wife had the Fig and Brie Flatbread with arugula. Again, delicious. The only critique she had with that, and it is minor, is that there was too much arugula on top. Not a big deal because she simply pushed the excess aside. The finale was dessert; a chocolate bread pudding topped with a bourbon sauce and a dollop of whipped cream. Outstanding! Our food was prepared with care, thoughtfulness, and pride. We personally love the fact that the chef insists on “no substitutions” from the menu. You can tell that he puts his heart and soul into his cooking, and he wants to share his vision for that dish.
As we were getting ready to leave, Karen was at our table, and I mentioned that the Google reviews that I read were accurate. Not only was the food outstanding, but her warmth and graciousness could be felt everywhere. She (jokingly) said that “Good, because I write all the reviews”. Not true!
As we left the building, I turned to my wife and said that I want to come back here in September to celebrate my 65th birthday. We’ll see you Labor Day Weekend!

Great place with an amazing owner. Visited while on vacation, owner I believe with a great Irish accent greeted us, we got seated on the deck. It was hot and sunny and the waitress recognized it and moved us to a different location to have shade. Food, drinks and service were great. We left, and walking out the door the owner made sure to thank me..remembering my first name and using it…without a doubt going back.

Came in for a casual Saturday afternoon lunch a few weeks back. Chicken sando's were delightful. My 2 year old had a Grilled Cheese off of the kids menu. We think it's the best food in Callicoon. Add to it the ability to sit out on the back patio and enjoy some sunshine, and it can't be beat. Would absolutely recommend.

Parking: We just parked on the street. There is a public parking area just behind the restaurant too. I think the difficulting finding parking would be down to how much is going on. The day off the farmers market there was significantly less parking but the day prior was easy to find a spot.

I'm shocked it's taken me so long to review the Creek house as we have been going for ages now. The food is absolutely by far the best in Callicoon. It's delicious. Like everything on the menu even the homemade coleslaw - seriously My teenage kids love the pulled pork or the buttermilk sandwiches generally. We are all fans of the fries - proper chunky fries. I am vegetarian so am the fussy one however I've managed to enjoy everything they have but without doubt the cauliflower cheese is my favorite by far, seriously Moorish.
We don't often have space for dessert as the portions are large but when we do, we either take the cheesecake or a crumble if it's on the menu.
The chef John is lovely and superb at his job !! Karen is his wife and you will find her running the place with a massive smile and chatter if she has time. I'm atrocious with names but the guy who is generally our server is so funny and loves to tease my kids and vice versa.
We try and go once a week if we can and it's always the highlight of the week. Amazing food and staff to match. Long may it stay in Callicoon.

Vegetarian options: There is always a vegetarian option, and they have always offered to make me a nice salad off the menu if nothing else works
