If you are reading this, our complaint has not been resolved. My wife and I booked a wedding block at The Western Inn for our October 2025 wedding. When we no longer needed the block, we provided more than enough notice with the owner per our contract to cancel the block and receive a refund of our deposit. Despite our numerous attempts to come to a resolution, the owner has spent months neglecting to provide our contractual refund and continues to essentially violate the terms of the contract, citing staffing issues for her delay. We are now submitting a claim to the town small claims court to receive our deposit. It has been a disappointing and frustrating experience to work with this hotel.
We spent three nights at The Western Hotel in Callicoon, NY, and absolutely loved the experience. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored 1852 Victorian mansion that perfectly captures the charm of a bygone era while offering all the modern comforts you want for a relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and the entire atmosphere reflected the warmth and character of small-town hospitality. Our room was clean, comfortable, and full of historic detail, yet thoughtfully updated for comfort.
Callicoon is one of those rare towns that feels untouched by time — a quiet, walkable main street with unique local shops, a vintage movie theater, and a few great spots to eat and grab coffee. There’s an old-town charm here that makes you slow down and enjoy simple pleasures, from chatting with locals to strolling along the Delaware River. The Western fits right into that spirit — it’s not a flashy resort, but a soulful, well-preserved gem that feels both authentic and relaxing. We enjoyed the on-site dining and the ease of having everything we needed right there, yet being just steps away from exploring Callicoon’s history and charm. We left feeling rested, reconnected, and already talking about when we might return. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates character, comfort, and a genuine sense of place.
This is a beautiful spot, location is great, lots of bars (that stay open late), restaurants, shops, movie theatre in town. Extremely walkable. The food here is excellent with good presentation, staff is friendly and social (shout out to Shaun, Drew & Sylvester). They make great mixed drinks. It is a victorian outdoorsy esthetic. Also have nice rooms upstairs and a GIANT ballroom with balconies. See the photos, they get the point across but you won’t regret a visit. I think they will start having events here. Highly recommend overall.
Management is horrible and food is very inconsistent with chefs
Fun atmosphere. They had a band and nice couches. We had dessert and the lemon merengue pie was spectacular! They used a perfected recipe or a local bakery. Either way so good!

A very pleasant night at the Western Inn. Very nice room and very comfortable bed. I liked the silent electric baseboard heat.

For a place that was built in the early 1800’s I was completely impressed with the comfort and cleanliness I highly recommend this place

Hard to get too. Food was not good. And charged me $5 for diet coke. With no refills. May be a good bar, but anything else no.

We desperately needed a room due to camping vehicle trouble and we scored here! The Innkeeper was friendly and hooked us up with the last room available.
The room was nice medium sized, clean, with private bathroom, AC. Very comfy bed, bedding and pillows. Shampoo/Conditioner/soap/blowdryer included. Located in downtown Callicoon — with restaurants and cafes in walking distance.
The hotel itself is a historical structure and has a lot of interesting features.
We were pleasantly surprised that we could afford a last minute room — it was reasonably priced!
