After my aunt's funeral service ended at 10:45 am yesterday, I called Brasserie Creole to see if they were open to service my family and I, a total of 20 people. Unfortunately, takeout was available only. However, the lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and told me it was ok and Brasserie Creole will accommodate my family and I. When we arrived, we walked through the takeout section and into the restaurant. The same lady who answered the phone was the one who greeted us with a bright smile and positive energy. She setup the table for 20 people and it was lovely. She took our order and she did not take long bringing our hot food. We were served a variety of delicious Haitian food which also included the Haitian Macaroni and the famous pickles. They had music in the background that was appropriate for the occasion as well. Another waiter came to assist. We felt special being the only people at the restaurant and we were treated very well. The staff had a welcoming personality and they were professional. I was grateful to everyone who made sure we had good food and drinks to comfort us as we were remembering my beloved aunt.

Sanitation needs to close down this place. Not only it is filthy but the the people who seemingly work there literally dig their bare hands in the food without using appropriate ustensils... such a gross and disgusting place.

My friend went to visit his mom in Long Island and was told me this spot makes authentic Haitian food. I had the fritaille (griot and fried plantain). The griot was well seasoned juicy not dry. They give you an ample amount.

Ordered a legume she said there was meat in there but turned out to be a big bone I gave it 3 stars cause the flavor is there and the way they pack it was nice. I think this place would be better if they were more organized that big piece of plaintain was a no no for me not appealing and tasteless

The food is AMAZING. Let's be real, yes the women have attitudes on most days but what Haitian auntie doesn't, hell we all do! I liken this place to Seinfeld's "Soup N**** episode; just order takeout with as little conversation as possible and life is balanced again. This place will always get a pass from me, simply because it tastes like home. I'm giving it five stars because reviews based on service can be deceiving and sometimes I just want to know if the food simply tastes good and this place is delicious. You can't go wrong here. I could care less of an eye roll at checkout 5 mins ago when I'm feasting on the deliciousness of good Haitian food at home. The most authentic Haitian food you can get in Queens The "Poisson Gros Sel' is my absolute favorite. Spicy and sooo good.

They had an amazing live band and the food was pretty good too. But the service is terrible. I made a reservation for 12, 3 days in advance and confirmed 2 hours ahead; and we came in on time and they weren't ready. We had to put together our own table. Also, they didn't have menus, I'm not sure if that's a thing for this type of restaurant but it wasn't a huge problem. They didn't even come and ask if we enjoyed our food!! But, if you can put aside the terrible service and if you're just looking for good eats then this place isn't bad even tho service is supposed to be a part of the restaurant experience.

Hands down the best food ever no matter what you get. But these women at Brasserie express can be so rude you would think they own the place. Serve the food not your attitude...

My party of 30 had a reservation for 8 PM. When I showed up at 7:45 PM, they were still setting up and I was told that we could sit. I declined, as my whole party wasn't there and they were still setting up. Then when the majority did show up, they still weren't ready, and it was past 8 PM. Then as I requested for notice about how long it would take before we were seated, the waitress, who didn't even provide her name, gave attitude stating we were told we could sit. Why would I sit while you're still setting up? To add insult to injury, we didn't get our appetizers until 8:45 for our 8 PM RESERVATION! I could go in about the tragedies we faced but I will simply say the staff is rude, they work slowly, they are incompetent, and if it wasn't for the owner who followed up when he saw me visibly getting angered, we would probably not be getting any proper service. NEVER AGAIN! This is a poor representation of what any establishment should be, let alone a Haitian one.

It was horrible. Went to eat there for a funeral. The family had paid nearly 5000 for the food and venue. And the owner horded all the food. It was was when we started complaining, then miraculously food appeared. I could have went to Chinese buffet and had better service and more included.
