We were on our honeymoon and ate here for lunch. Beautiful spot on the water. We had the nachos for an app, they were good, for our meals we had the salad with chicken and the double smash burger, both good as well. Two cocktails, strawberry daquiri and a lemonade blueberry. Would def come back!

Great setting that reflects poor management. Staff throughout the restaurant looked like they were attending a funeral-not a smile in the place. After some small talk, our waiter seemed to relax but this operation reflects a troubled work culture.

Made us wait nearly half an hour because we didn't make a lunch reservation even though the place was only 20% full. Sat unattended at our table for long periods with a 40 minute wait on food. Food itself was incredibly average for the high price. Only come here if every other restaurant with lakefront views is busy.

Great atmosphere and views on the end of Canandaigua Lake. In between many places, the area has a nice vibe.
Good drinks, but in my opinion slightly limited menu selection for food.
That said, there were 4 of us and we all easily found something on the menu.
Well worth stopping in during the day. Also a spot after CMAC.

Had the best calamari ever. Food overall was great. The atmosphere is scenic and refreshing. Tiffany (Manager, Sand Bar) was prompt and helpful getting us the best and highest form of service worth our money.

We ordered the lobster roll and Santa Fe Tacos. Both were excellent. Service is great. The view of the lake from the outdoor seating area is second to none.

My only beef with Sand Bar is that I feel the management should rethink the apparent requirement that the female wait staff wear unbelievably short skirts for work. Just in their course of duty working around us I saw much more than I wanted. My standard is that if I had a daughter working there would I want her wearing those skirts? My answer is that no I wouldn’t. The male staff are not required to bare their undergarments. How is that fair?

It was a hot day. Our option was a table in the sun. Even though there were tables empty we were told an hour wait because of a wait list and reservations so we took the table. But those empty tables never got filled. We did move to a table with less sun and an umbrella. The server was great but I have a dairy allergy. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos but I was given the aioli. I’m not sure if they used a different recipe but most are fine as Mayo contains no dairy. They were tasty enough but kind of dry and I felt very expensive at $26 for perhaps 3 oz of fish.

I think we must have visited on the busiest night of the year. Service was incredibly slow and after sitting for about 20 minutes we had to ask if a server was ever going to come to our table. Once placing our order we waited a significant time for the food as well. The food was good, but not great. I guess the highlight of the experience was watching the boats come in and out of the marina, which was beautiful. But for such an upscale place, I did expect more.

We're staying at the hotel- Rose tavern was excellent but Sand Bar was so bad we left most of the food.

Great setting. Okay food. A bit overpriced. Terrible service. Every time we try to walk in we have to wait even though there are several tables open. We wait and stare at these empty tables. They say they have reservations. Not managing walk in’s well. We see 8-10 tables empty while we wait for an hour. We site down and don’t see a server for 10 minutes so we walk. Kids are too hungry and we hit our limit on waiting. And we are very patient parents. Service is like this every time we come. Such a shame because it has a lot of potential.

We used to love the Sand Bar. However the service is very slow and the wait times are outrageous. We were quoted a 15-20 minute wait. We ended up waiting over 1.5 hours, only to be sat in the sun, which we explicitly asked to not sit in due to a guests medical condition. We then waited an additional half hour to even have a waitress attend to us.

Please take the time to invest in more umbrellas or additional staff as the experience was more frustrating than relaxing. Very disappointing.
