“Friendly good quality food and service“

“I can not believe that this restaurant has been here on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village for over 20 years and I never ate there!!! This is my new Favorite place to eat. The food was exceptional and good size portions. The pita bread they put out on the table was so delicious I could have made that my meal. The service was extremely attentive and so personable. The Owner came around greeting everyone and made us feel like we were all family having dinner together. I am looking forward to my next visit.“

“I cannot say enough about the incredible food and how unbelievably fresh their fish is. From the moment you get there with their chickpea salad, which is phenomenal and then there’s tzatziki, which is also the best I’ve ever had you off perfectly. There’s never a time I don’t come home with leftovers. The staff is friendly And consistent. “Salah’s is amazing! I’m a big fan of the combo over rice-chicken and lamb over rice with salad and their special secret sauce. The portions are huge and the food is so fresh. The flavor is beyond amazing. No lack of flavor or spice here! Love the cardamom. It’s the kind of food that warms your soul.“

“We’ve been looking for a quality Greek restaurant in our area. There are so many disappointing options (which I won’t mention by name). We had been to Mediterranean Express a long time ago under previous ownership and weren’t impressed. Saw that they had changed hands a while ago and decided to give them a try, again. So glad that we did.

We ordered the falafel appetizer, the gyro platter, a Greek salad with gyro meat and a galaktebouroko dessert. The food quality was impressive… everything looked and tasted homemade, the portions were huge (there were lots of leftovers) and the taste was outstanding. Most of the packaging is biodegradable (much appreciated). The counter staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

If there was one suggestion it would be to pack the French Fries in the platter separately as they were soggy when I got them home. Next time I’ll ask them to do that for me.

The price for the quality and quantity of food we received was excellent. Nice to know we have a quality Greek restaurant that we can frequent in our neighborhood.
