I went on a Saturday night. It was a little busy but not too bad. The server was very nice however for the management I couldn’t say the same. He kept contradicting what the server told us saying it was going to be way longer for food than it actually was. He was very hesitant about giving us a wine tasting and he had to do it rather than the server. He also seemed very eager to get us to leave to put new people in on this table.

Food light and refreshing. Order an extra baguette with the burrata because it is amazing. And order a side of cranberries for your salad. The food is so fresh.

We went prior to a concert, one server was nice and had us sit at the bar due to no tables available. The staff was clearly new however the manager was extremely rude and should not be in a customer facing role. Another couple came in after us and was served right away but we had to ask 2-3 times for water and menus, again the manager was very rude and acted like we were bothering him. Unfortunately we had no other options otherwise would have left immediately. Very poor experience but I will say the food was excellent and atmosphere nice, just needs a new manager that isn't rude to people, unbelievable!!

Decent wine selection but will limit you on trying wine. Any decent wine bar will always offer you a taste of the wine. I rarely leave critical reviews since I know it hurts businesses.

Server asked if I wanted a new glass when I got a different wine.

Overpriced considering this is what I pay at overpriced vibey natural wine bars in New York and Boston. Would have hoped for something a bit more wholesome and easy going in a place like Chautauqua.

If you’re going to charge like a fancier wine bar my expectations are higher for what I’m offered.

We were seated and given water. Another couple came in and the server gave them her full attention while we tried to get her attention. We ended up leaving after sitting there 10 minutes with no additional acknowledgment. Another couple got up and left also b/c of poor service. No plans to go back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two visits to Afterwords. The walk from the hotel was short and beautiful. The atmosphere was classy yet casual, with high ceilings and comfortable seating. There's a sommelier on staff, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a type of wine I like on the menu that you can't find just anywhere. The charcuterie offering made a nice dinner, including the arugula with tasty balsamic blaze that came with it. My server, Bear, was great. Wish this group would set up shop in Asheville where I live!

Barry was a fantastic host and incredibly knowledgable, very kind to a total wine novice like myself. Cannot recommend Afterwords enough!

We had a 10 PM reservation for 4 and noted that we were coming from the symphony. The symphony ended earlier than expected, and we headed over to the bar, expecting that we might have to wait a bit for our reservation. However, when we got there we were told (rather rudely) that all reservations had been cancelled, because “the reservation system is broken and we have to cancel all the reservations until it is fixed”. He said “you had the 10:00, right”. I said yes, and why didn't anyone call to tell me it had been cancelled. No answer. There were not four seats together for our party, so we left and are unlikely to return.

Staff was accommodating as I was 6:45 reservation. Food and wine was excellent! Thanks for new venue.

It was 12:30 on a Sunday and they were out of two of the three dishes we ordered. They comped our wine, but still. . . Because their menu choices are quite limited, we were left with few options. Service was sketchy--slow and had to ask for items like table ware and a bottle of water for our table which every other table seemed to have. In addition, it is quite expensive. If our wine had not been comped and they had available the two additional menu items we ordered, our bill for two people would have been well over $100 even though we each had only one glass of the least expensive wines on the menu. I will not go back.

The wine was great! The food was lacking. The charcuterie board was missing a lot of things described on the menu. As well, it was too expensive to present on a paper plate.

To be perfectly fair it was only the second day they were open. The concept is fabulous, decor is great. Wine selection was great and prices fair for Chautauqua Institution. I know they are adding desserts and expanding the menu. But for a little tapas and a great glass of wine it fits the bill. The staff was knowledgeable on the wine and attentive. I will visit again!

Staff was amazing and attentive. Food variety very limited, however they had just opened to the public 2 days prior for the first time. Wine was excellent. We enjoyed the space; hopefully they will be able to update the maintenance and painting of the building. Would def go again looking for an updated menu.
