Great food! Highly recommend the mushroom appetizer and the white chili. Tanner is the best!
We had the salmon and NY STEAK. It was delicious and had fabulous flavor and presentation.
Local testimony-
The Bullhouse staff are friendly, efficient, and do a fantastic job.
It’s my preferred spot to bring visitors because of the predictability of their dishes, the good service, and the quality of the food.
Atmosphere is nice- somewhere between eclectic/comfy & quiet/elegant.
Burgers, steak, & gnocchi are perfect every time. My daughter also loved the fried fish off the kid’s menu.
Ok all, first off our waitress was amazing. We were a group of 4 and visitors of the Fern Lodge. We ordered everything we could and it all came out perfect. The first night we went we ordered the fresh guacamole and it is made at your table. ORDER IT !!!!!!!!! Then there were our main courses, we had some really great entrees. VANILLA RUM COCONUT BRAISED SEABASS, OSCAR'S SMOKED PORK CHOP, the BURGER. This is a must stop and check it out. We liked it so much we went for a second time over the weekend.
Great place for a nice quiet dinner date or even to take the family for a dinner out. Food is great, drinks were perfect and the staff was so attentive.
Fantastic restaurant when traveling. Great elevated adult meals and great options for the kiddos. Staff is professional and you can tell they have been there a while.
They have fantastic food, but their website says they offer take out, and they do not offer it after 6 pm, but this information is not apparent on the website.
Overall great dinner! Nice warm atmosphere with an interesting menu and great service, not something you often find in such a small town. They humored me and made me a hot&dirty martini that I looooved - it's hard to find a bar that has the ingredients and even harder to find a bartender who can make a good one.
We accidentally sat past close (Google hours were wrong, we realized at the end that we were keeping them) and even though we ordered dessert about 15 min past close they served us without mentioning the time.
The empanadas definitely could have used more seasoning in the beef but the pastry was excellent and seemed like it was made in-house. My steak was juicy and flavorful and the apple/caramel/churro dessert was the perfect send off with a nightcap.
We were in town for the weekend and lived this place so much we went two nights in a row! Our waitress Casey was great! The first night they were quite busy and we told Casey we weren’t in a rush so not to worry. She seemed very grateful. Food was absolutely delicious. The ribeye was so flavorful and tender, I think my husband fell in love. lol. Would highly recommend to anyone in town.

My wife and I have been to the Bullhouse several times. We're not from the area, but we always make it a point to visit when we are. The food is delicious. What a great chef you have. The service is excellent. Always friendly and attentive. And the atmosphere is perfect. A nice blend of being upscale and casual. As always, I look forward to our next visit.

This restaurant is a nice little "find" in Chestertown. It was less than ten minutes from the lake house that we rented last week on Loon Lake
Very friendly staff and we got the nice corner window table for two !..our waiter (Tanner) was prompt and efficient.. and we told him so :)
The menu is very good and the prices are very reasonable...(especially after coming from Mendham NJ !)
We drank at the bar and met the Loon Lake marina owner (Rich) from whom we rented a pontood boat. We also met the owner of Sticks and Stones ...another great locale up near Schroon Lake...(more on both in other reviews)
Loon Lake is quite a restful retreat...no commercial businesses on the lake, but plenty of watering holes nearby.
Well worth a visit !

My wife found this place and we decided to try it. First time we came, they had a closed event and private party, so we realized we had to call it in first. Next day, which was Tuesday I called and made a reservation, which I was suggested that we will need.
We were surprised to see that the place was very busy, considering it was Tuesday when we arrived. We got our table and ordered. The staff is very nice, pleasant and the atmosphere is very nice in this place. We decided to order and since I can't have any animal protein or dairy, this was one of the choices that my wife found in the first place. Their vegan menu is nice, but due to my very limited dietary needs, I could only pick a few things and more like shared plates appetizers, so I ended up getting 3 of those. I got their Vegan Empanadas, which came 2 on the plate, delicious, absolutely delicious. I also got their kimchi plate with plantains, that was also good and to make sure that I have enough food, I got their vegan baked potato with vegan sour cream and butter. All was delicious and it was enough food, but I just wish that there were a few main vegan dishes to choose from. My wife got a chicken dish, with sweet mashed and said it was very good, as well as she got the beef empanadas for the rest of the family at the table, besides me and they loved those. Our son and my mother in law got Flank Steak with chimichurri sauce. He got it with fries, which were extremely tasty and she got hers with sweet mashed, which she also liked very much. The only draw back was, that my son got medium well and my mother in law got well done. They brought all of the dishes for us, but her well done steak took longer, which is fine, but usually don't bring the rest of the table if someone is going to wait for a while. That is something that should just be a restaurant rule of thumb, but everyone was very happy with the meal and at the end of the day, it was a great experience in dining.
Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian menu or should I say, vegan menu, but it is not that big and there are mostly shared plates on it, not really a main course.

Bartender was NOT welcoming at all. We sat at the bar. As a POC, I did not feel welcome there and probably should have left upon arrival. I will NOT return.

Been here a few times. The service is always great at the bar. Once again, I got a Moscow mule and a NY Strip. It was cooked to perfection as always.
