I proposed to my girlfriend at the Friends Lake Inn this past weekend. The entire experience at this small intimate lodge was absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the Saranac Lake room. If you are a fan of quiet and romantic and like the Adirondack style, you will love that room. The pictures online don't do it justice. My husband and I had a great couple of nights thanks to the beautiful room Missy at the front desk recommended - Great Lakes Room. This room was just what we were looking for - bright, fireplace and a deck where we could see and hear the lake and waterfall. It was nice to have our room refreshed each day as many hotels are still not providing daily maid service. I found everything there pleasantly warm and cozy. I loved the breakfast pumpkin pancakes They were awesome, thin like crepes, Delicious. The salmon and risotto dinner dish was delicious as well. We also like the fried calamari appetizer. Friendly and helpful staff definitely a must I highly recommend.
