Visited recently with a Groupon, having eaten here about 18 months ago. The first thing we noticed was a different menu. They no longer specialize in hand-pulled noodles! That was our reason for coming, since Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen here. Dumplings were delicious, obviously made in-house. I have been a patron of tea plus since I moved to NY almost 3 years ago. The original chef was excellent in Sichuan noodles and dishes. After a year or so, tea plus has a new chef specialized in hand-pulled noodles and I literally stopped going. Recently, tea plus hired a new chef again, and this time it is worth going back. Upon arrival, we were greeted by cute automated “Welcome” voice from the door. We asked the cashier to what her favorite item from the menu is, but we had some difficulty communicated due to the language barrier. We ordered her recommendation, #27 (The Passion Fruit Green Tea with Crystal boba). We were appalled to find that the taste of the tea resembled a concoction of dish soap and Victoria Secret Perfume.
