Absolutely excellent dinner location for Thanksgiving. Authentic Revolutionary War Era Inn setting with phenomenal dinner menu for Thanksgiving. 4 of us came here for Thanksgiving- my wife, me and her parents, we all got something different and this place did not disappoint on anything. Delicious food and beautiful location on the Hudson River. The lobster bisque was delicious!
The restaurant is in a beautiful location with amazing river views. It is clean and well maintained given the building age. Unfortunately, our food and vegetables had zero flavor. The portions were small given the price and there was no carbohydrate on the plate, just fish and vegetables. The carrots, in addition to being flavorless, were so raw I could not cut them with the knife. Hudson House River Inn, located next to the Hudson River, offers a gastronomical experience with a beautiful atmosphere. The historic charm of the inn in Cold Spring adds to the ambiance, with some things about the hotel being old, having the charm of a period piece. The food is delicious and very tasty, with hot plates served for every dish. The horse radish mashed potatoes were a crowd favorite. The New England crab and corn chowder was rich and satisfying. The salmon was nicely seasoned and not over cooked. The strip steak was done just right and favorful. The pizza was phenomenal. The management and servers ensure a pleasant dining experience, with polite and wonderful and welcoming staff. Guests praise the staff's kindness, making it a phenomenal place to visit again. The location is perfect, clearly a lively tourist & local favorite. The Hudson River View is amazing, with picturesque views of the Hudson River and a fabulous view of the river with hiking trails nearby. There are great options on the kid’s menu. Service was great. Popover with strawberry butter to start, Lobster Bisque, French Onion Soup and Chicken Dumpling were all good. Outside seat is available. This cozy restaurant is not so busy for lunch on a Monday afternoon. It is a great place to stay as a home base for visiting Hudson Valley, with dedicated free parking for the hotel and a convenient walk to town.
