I got sick from this place today. Ordered the chicken tempura. It was bland - bordering on flavorless - but I powered through because I was extremely hungry. Symptoms of food poisoning started about 3 hours later. I won't get into specifics, but it was bad. To the staff: please check the chicken for contamination!!!

Pricing is really good! Like pre-inflation, pre-pandemic pricing. That was great, especially the lunch time specials. Service was quick and friendly, and portions were pretty. This is a great lunch time pick for some good Japanese food.

Seaweed salad is very good. Hostess and waitress was very nice.I ordered the chicken and vegetables with rice noodles. It was pretty much all noodles, maybe two tablespoons of chicken and one of vegetables. Just not right and not healthy.

Our go-to restaurant in Cooperstown was closed, so we decided to give Mt. Fuji a try. Honestly, we weren’t expecting much from a small sushi place in Cooperstown but it was actually really good sushi. The service was also pretty good, and the restaurant setting was basic. To preface this review, I am from the Bay Area in California. We have lots of amazing Japanese food. We stopped here after 1.5 weeks from home and were tired of pizza, burgers, and sandwiches. We went expecting something less than we were used to, but really wanted Asian food. I rated four stars here because it was what we expected for where we were at and worth it to satisfy a craving. (If we were back home, I'd have rated this far less though). The bento box (chicken teriyaki) - weird frozen shui mai (which is actually Chinese cuisine and I've never until now seen it served at a Japanese restaurant). Chicken was a little over cooked, but fine. Teriyaki sauce decent. But it was oddly on a stir fry of bell papers and onions (again, not typical for Japanese cuisine). Salad was yummy. Dressing was delicious. Orange cut nicely and juicy. Overall, it was fine. The bento box (veggie tempura) - same comments above. As for the actual tempura, my son didn't have any complaints. They looked fine. They gave a sizable portion. I can't rate on the taste though. Sashimi lunch - my husband and son had no complaints. Large pieces. Though my husband got a different variety of fish than my son, but both enjoyed. Various rolls - they were all pretty good. If you are hankering for Japanese food, as long as you come with the right expectations, you'll be fine.

Stopped in to share chicken and steak teriyaki that hit the spot. Gyoza was yummy as well. Fast and friendly service. Would stop bye again.
